Stormy Weather

We woke up this morning to drenching rain and weather people telling us there were high winds, hale and tornadoes in our county and those surrounding us. We have listened to weather forecasts off and on all day. Our lights went out and here we sat. No computer, no TV, no doing chores. We don't know how much we depend on our electricity until we are without it. I still don't know if it was a car wreck that ran into an electric pole or if trees blew down on the lines. Before out power went off, I watched workers on TV clearing trees off power lines in other counties. The winds were high here, too. It's still thundering and lightening. Our power came back on after about two hours. We might wake up to no power in the morning. How is your weather. Hope it's better than ours.

We were expected to have severe weather but that did not come through... We might have some tomorrow though. It was rainy and overcast when I woke up at 2 pm. We had the internet turned off just in case, and so I just got back online myself...

I have a bunch of candles that I light when the electricity goes off. For awhile I can even stay on line.

I lit a couple of candles but it didn't help much.

That is terrible and I am pretty sure that held up work on the bridge too.

@RubyHawk I'd hope so, around here when the weather is bad managers of stores insist that the employees come to work or be fired.

I'm sure it did. I don't believe anyone was out other than for emergencies.

@dfollin Many managers do here, but the bridge break down is so horrendous for those who have to travel to work I suppose some manegers took that in consideration.

I think we all appreciate rain when it's been dry for too long. We were slightly in a drought but all the flooding should have fixed that.

Much better here. Threatening rain clouds that may rain tomorrow, but today was dry and in the low 60s. I hope nothing bad happens with all those storm cells around. Take care.

Nothing bad happened here but several tornadoes touched down around us. There was also flooding but nobody was killed or injured that I heard.

I hope the weather has calmed down there for you and that you didn't lose your power again. It was snowing here yesterday but today it is very mild and we are suppose to have a lot of rain this evening. After that the temperatures are really going to start to warm up and finally feel like spring.

Our winter has been so mild that it almost felt like spring all winter. We didn't have many really cold days.

It is rainy and cold and we just had a thunderstorm pass through but not the violent winds. I am glad you are safe.

From what I heard on TV nobody was killed or injured, we were lucky this time. It was really cold and windy today with just a little rain.

I love sunny days, but we can't always have it the way we like it. We had flooding so maybe we will have enough water for awhile.

Very windy and our temperature really dropped. We will be in the 40's at night for a day or two.

Certainly once the power goes off, it becomes impossible to do many things. I always think I'll catch up on the ironing then it hits me - DUH!

I know, I don't know what I was thinking but it was disturbing not to be able to do a thing but sit there. Can't read, can't write, can't do anything.
