Let's take on the weekend!

I spoke with my nephew this morning. His friend has returned from her winter in Florida/North Carolina and they are off to the mall today to pick up a few essentials she needs now that she's back. I'm going to be seeing them on Tuesday, along with a few other friends, and it will be nice to have everyone back together again!
I had a great night's sleep. I got up a little earlier than planned, and that's a good thing. I have some cleaning on the program for today. First, the bathroom. It's pretty clean already, but with the litter box in there, I make sure to keep the floor clean every day. Today I'm planning a deeper clean. It's just healthier for both of us!
And then I'm doing the kitchen floor. Again, it's pretty clean in there already, but my cat eats in there and she can get messy at times. I spot clean every day but today the floor will get a proper washing.
I've decided to put that very large book to the side. I've reached the halfway point but it's becoming more a struggle than a pleasure to read, so I'm going to change it for a different book in hopes of finding something more enjoyable.
I'm not sure if I'll be doing laundry today or tomorrow. That decision will be made later this afternoon. Sometimes it's better to do laundry later in the day so I'm already down there when the mail arrives. Not only does it save a trip, but I get to see so many of my neighbors! Everyone rushes downstairs for mail! It's become the highlight of the day for so many! lol

Sound like you are going to be keeping yourself pretty busy this weekend. I just got back from Easter shopping and now I am going to have lunch. The I will tackle my spare room and see if I can get a start at it. I am using it for storage now and I want to use it as a spare room again. Enjoy your day.

That's what often happens with spare rooms. The last time I had a two bedroom apartment, when I moved in I put a bedroom set int the spare room so I couldn't destroy it! lol With my apartment now, I don't have an extra room. I do have a large closet with great shelves, and that's been very easy to maintain. So I wish you all the best tackling that room! Will you eventually have a bedroom set in there?

I'm taking Friday off so I'm going to work tomorrow to "make up" the time (I'm an hourly and part-time employee, so if I don't work I don't get paid). I have to do laundry as well. But today is beautiful and, now that I've finished lunch, I'm going out to enjoy it!!

Everyone comes and goes so much, but they all tend to congregate down there waiting for mail to come. So doing laundry around the same time gives me a chance to get a lot of different things done at the same time! I also pick up a lot of the gossip from the building! lol

@CRK109 For many of us, it is time to think about downsizing. Sooner or later, it really makes sense to have less to take care of and therefore more time to enjoy other things.

When I lived in my former house, my late husband and I had a lot of trouble keeping up with the cleaning. The house really was too big for us. And when he passed away, I was so depressed because I could barely get anything done there. And I hated living like that. Now that I'm in a small apartment, it's very easy for me to keep it clean and I've become something of a clean freak. I love the fact that anytime someone might drop by, I don't have to rush around to make the place look presentable. I guess I'm just proud of the fact that I have a place I'm able to truly keep clean and neat. It makes me feel good about myself.

I did laundry this morning. I hung it out to dry and brought it all back in...smelling fresh. It's folded and put away. Now I need to tidy the living room but instead....I'm on my iPad reading and commenting on Mylot discussions.

We have to clean our bathroom floors and kitchen floor too in the next week. Thankfully we don't need to use bleach like we did to clean the shower a week or two ago.
Its nice to have nice neighbors and not bad ones so when the mail comes you can all talk and stuff.

Many people in this building have no jobs and not much family, so the arrival of mail is a huge deal. In fact, I can go downstairs at almost any time of the day and someone will ask me, "Has the mail come yet?" It's the highlight of the day for so many! So I know when to find everyone hanging around. lol
