Sweet Shrubs and Mountain Honeysuckle .

It was another pretty sunny day. A little hot but with a slight breeze. I really enjoyed my walk. I saw black berry blossoms, mountain honeysuckles, and sweet shrubs. Nothing else smells so good as sweet shrubs at their peak. I had my camera in hand and made pictures. Wish a picture would submit. In my opinion this is the most beautiful time of the year. I walked around the cemetery. It's part of my extended walk. Birds were fluttering among the tomb stones and I made pictures of them. On my last walk I had gathered flowers that had been tossed in the woods and put them on graves that were bare. Most of the graves are old and most likely there's nobody left to bring flowers. Flowers that are thrown away are still pretty. If I were bringing fresh flowers I would put the used ones on the old graves. Anyway that's what I did today. It was a good one. How was your day.

There are volunteers in our village who bring flowers on the tomb of people who have no more living family to take care of the tomb.

@RubyHawk It's not the Church that does this, only volunteer people.

@LadyDuck many churches used to have a designated date when members gathered to clean the graveyard. I don't know if they do now.

Many churches do that but evidently this church doesn't

It seems sad that some tombstones and graves have no-one to tidy them up or pay their respects. I'm glad you put the old flowers on some of the graves.

Brisk walking is the best exercise while seeing the scenery in your place.

@RubyHawk I had experienced this feeling before. Unluckily, we don't have spring in my country.

Spring is starting to show it's pretty colours. On my morning walk I saw pu$$y willows that are almost finished blooming and forsythia that was just starting to flourish. Around my house the hyacinths are starting to bloom and if the weather hanging in there tomorrow my first daffodils will be open. I love springtime. I can't believe it won't let me use the word pu$$y willows....a little creativity was called for.

It's a little crazy that we can't use common words. Our daffodils have bloomed and gone. Forsythia is still pretty and so are azaleas. As for the puzzy willows, I haven't been to the river to check on them. I love spring too.

Yesterday was a good day for me too. Had a great meeting with the Board of the company and we had a great discussion of when our next vacation would be and where. Now it's Thursday morning here and I will be going to my hometown for the holidays. Great to know you had a lovely day.

I used to love walking in the big cemetery in Commerce, GA. I always read the names and dates of life. I tried to imagine what their lives were like.

The days just go so fast, don't they? Putting the flowers you found on graves without flowers was a nice idea.

In my religion we put stones on the headstones. I love this time of year, too!

These graves are very old. In the early days not many people could afford monuments.

I don't see many sweet shrubs here now but years ago they were plentiful. I suppose because so much of our woods have been cleared for subdivisions
