Have you ever been poked on Facebook? What does it mean when someone pokes you? What did you when you got a notification of a poke?

@nomus24g I'm just curious to see if they will say something more than just poke once.

It's just a means of getting your attention. It happened to me once and I ignored it.

Well, they got my attention and so I poked back after reading a response here but noticed that other people had poked me before but never noticed till today. Where can the poke button be found in case I want to poke someone?

I haven't been on FB for years, but I would just poke back. It is just another way of saying "Hi" to me.

@LadyDuck No, I don't think so, unless they were flirting with us and now they think we were flirting with them.

I don't 'do' FB but I've read the comments. It sounds funny to me - poking someone.

I'll have to keep reading all the comments before I get to bed to get to the funny ones. I noticed that others had poked me but I never noticed till this one today. I poked back and am curious if there is anymore to it.

It is like someone nudging you to communicate with them, and to let you know they are thinking of you.

Yes, now I understand that. It turned out it was someone who thought I was someone else. She thought she knew me but she was mistaken.

People poke to get someone's attention. It's not a bad thing. Yes, I've been poked several times before. You'll receive a notification when someone pokes you. I just poke them back or chat with them.
