Going to the Apple Festival Shortly

Today is a short myLot day for me. Shortly, we've off to the Donnybrook Apple Festival in Western Australia. We haven't been for a few years but I know there will be all sorts of stalls and entertainment. There is a street parade so we hope to get there in time for that. Produce from the region will be featured too and perhaps we'll participate in the wine-tasting sessions. We need to be home at 4pm as Vince has offered free portraits to anyone who will let him practise taking portraits with his new lights. So the lounge is a photo studio for the moment. The photo is from last year's Fairbridge Festival which I've written about recently.

We are Western Standard Time (UTC+8). Does that make sense to you? I get completely confused with time zones. I think you'd be behind us.

That sounds as if you'll have a very good time! And that's a smart way for Vince to get some productive practice with his new equipment. It makes everyone happy! I hope we can see pictures of the festival. I really like that picture of the Fairbridge Festival, I love to watch dancers.

That sounds like quite the Fall-ish thing to do! Are the leaves turning yet? Here, I can see the crocuses, croci ? and the daffodils sot Spring is definitely on its way!

The leaves are turning here now. We have flowers of some sort all year really. We don't get the freezing cold that you do.

@MarymargII Although as someone pointed out, I'll never know the wonder of having a black/grey/white landscape turn to colour.

Hmm, well I guess OZ does have an apple climate. They tend to grow best in cooler regions though I think.

We have a Mediterranean climate similar to Clalifornia. The southern coastal strips are mustly very temperate and quite lush.

@JudyEv They are great for baking, they are a soft apple. I read somewhere that the less red in the skin of the apple means the less sugar it contains. When I ate 1 golden delicious apple a day I lost a lot of weight.

@Juliaacv Golden Delicious straight off the tree really live up to their name but I don't usually buy them in the shops.I go for Pink Lady mostly.

I always thought Golden Delicious were 'floury' until I had one straight off the tree,. They Were To Die For!!! I apple-picked one season and I hate to think of how many GD apples I ate in a day.
