TWO PLEASURES

What in your opinion are the two greatest pleasures people indulge in? I know how much people enjoy their food - so that can be one of them - what would you say is the other ?. Of course, our likes vary and people may find pleasure in a number of different things -- even in just looking at a huge pile of money. So what would be your two? and would you be able to give up one for the other?

It's too late at night and this is too hard at the moment. I guess maybe food and good company and I'd give up food for good company.

You won't have to give up all food - just your favorite kind.

My two greatest pleasures in life are my two sons and seeing them succeed in whatever they do.

@Kandae11 If I had to give up my favorite food I be so sad. Wait, my favorite foods are the ones my doctor says to give up anyway. I will have to pic a different favorite thing in life. Like, maybe, writing.

I forgot to point out - it should be giving up favorite foods - not food altogether. Family would be my top priority too.

@HazySue I have gave up my favorite foods when I embarked on a life long healthy diet - but I still have them occasionally - like twice a year. I gave up, sugary stuff, french fries, any kind of meat - except fish , which I don't have too often either. I gave up milkshakes, icecream soft drinks, processed foods ( I used to love hot dogs), chocolates - except for the dark ones, jams and jellies etc. I have seen some benefits so far , for example - I can't remember what it feels like to have a cold - because I haven't had one in 13 years.

There are more than one pleasure for me. To watch sun rise or a sun set, to sit on a beach and let the water touch the feet and go, to view birds chirping in a forest and to read a book/novel in complete peace and calm.

@dpk262006 Not really, I usually awake at the same time every morning, but whenever I'm not too sure I hear the birds and realize - yes, it is time to get up.

Food is the most discussing topic of MyLot. Friendship is the second that gives immense pleasure. Music , reading are some of the other ones. Money can use for many things but it itself not a pleasurable one.

My second pleasure is writing. It gives me immense pleasure. All my thoughts and feelings are transformed into beautiful lines that someone could read. No, why should we give up one for the other. When both are important then we should be able to hold on to both.

@Blushandglow In life we are sometimes forced to make choices - for whatever reason, so what I am doing here is trying to find out which one of your two favorite things you would give up - if you had to.

The two greatest pleasures. OK. My babies and all the yumny food for me. I live to eat. I eat everything I want and as much I want. Luckily for me I don't gain an ounce of extra fat. Have to thank my genes for that. And so it's an easy thing to make out that I would never give up my kids for all the food in the world as I love my babies more than anyone.
