Which do you prefer, sight-seeing or historic relics?

I am just back from a trip in mid east , which is so different from former sight-seeings. It seems such an impact both in time and space that for quite a few days I am still not back to myself. I appreciate what was exposed to me, still feel a bit tense to a certain extent. Which do you prefer, relaxing sight-seeing or replenishing historic relics?

Egypt. Little was spent on sightseeing, except in Red Sea region.

It is too difficult for me to decide because I love both of them and I will do both of them when I have a travel. I remember we visited the great museums in Russia and I have seen so many masterpieces and it kept me dreaming about them at night for several days

I prefer sight seeing, however, a mix of both is good..the history of a place or pieces is always interesting too.

I like both, and I like to have alternate days of sightseeing, and historical buildings or evacuation. If I have to see the grassland for 10 continuous days, I think I will get very sick of it. If I have to see evacuation of old castles or towers or buildings or towns for the same 10 days, i would get very sick of it too.

I will go for both. It is always a perfect combination to know while on travel.

I would rather go out and sight-see whatever it is out there in the nature than go to a museum to see historic relics. I feel that the nature provides much more to see, and it gives me that calm, soothing feeling as well.

I prefer to go sightseeing independently starting early in the morning. I like to walk and take some photos as I move along. I like to check out historical sites if they are wheelchair accessible. In Berlin we went on a walking tour which turned out to be excellent. We saw much more than we would have done on our own. In St Petersburg in Russia we had to see long hours of sightseeing because our time was limited. In an expensive destination I like to see free things and not take pricey transport. You see we took a tent to Iceland and camped. We allowed our self a day out to see a waterfall, a tectonic plate and a geyser. It ended with a relaxing time in a natural hot spa

I usually start sightseeing early in the morning when I travel. I want to see as much a possible. I love historical places, castles, temples, museums etc, but I also like to relax outside and visit lakes or mountains.

I don't understand why you're making a difference between the two activities. I'd call visiting historic relics sight-seeing. What is 'relaxing sight-seeing' to you? Sight-seeing is usually not relaxing, but interesting and exhausting. Btw, your photo is sideways. What does it show? Where did you go at all? 'mid east' is a vast region.

I would rather have a historic relic first before taking a sightseeing expedition
