Why is Good Friday called so? Ever wondered? Can someone explain?

I have always wondered why it's "Good"? I mean as far as I know on that day Jesus was crucified and he came back on Easter Day. Then how come it's a "good" Friday? PS: please none take this as an offence or rude comment. This is really something I have wondered. If my query hurt anyone, I am really sorry, that wasn't my intention. I just want to know the story behind the name
