A Second Early Vacation Morning

At least this morning I have a reason to be up so early. Ace had to be dropped off at the groomers at 7:30. I suppose I could have dropped him off, come home, and gone back to bed. I didn't, though. Maybe because I'd already had my cup of coffee. Maybe because I was hungry for breakfast. Breakfast today was the same as yesterday and Sunday, my wife's homemade sausage gravy on biscuits. She made extra Sunday so I'd be able to have it for breakfast the next couple of days, and am I glad she did. I've had sausage gravy at a lot of different restaurants, but none compares to her homemade. I've got a few more errands to run today, including getting the wife's car into the dealership for service. On the plus side, I will also be test driving pickup trucks as we will need to replace ours soon, before it loses too much trade-in value. What have you got planned for this Tuesday?

I'm looking forward to doing some fishing over the next few days once we're set up in our campsite.

I took my car in this morning and got the diagnosis - need a new car. So that's what I will be doing in the near future - looking for a new one. I'm glad your wife made extra for your breakfasts.

A couple years ago we took our old car in for a check up. The tech told us to pull off the radiator cap, back out the old car, and pull in a new one. The radiator cap was fine, but the rest of the car had to go. Hence, we wound up getting a new car. What kind of car are you looking for?

@just4him Have you given thought to a Honda or Toyota? Our 2000 Honda Civic gave us 15 years and 240,000+ miles of good service before we traded it in.

@DWDavis Reliable! I prefer Dodge/Chrisler. I haven't had one since I was married, and miss the good performance of them. I've had all kinds of used cars given to me, or bought a few years back that weren't either brand, and they worked as I expected them to. I used to dislike Ford a lot. Now I dislike Chevy even more after my (wonderful) dripping sarcasm, experience with that car. The Mitzubishi wasn't any better. I have an Oldsmobile now that used to be my father's. I want something I can trust, and so far the Dodge/Chrisler cars are the only ones that fit that bill.

Our grandson is coming for the week and I always make sausage, biscuits, and gravy for him. Good luck with the truck hunt.

I know you'll enjoy your grandson's visit, and he'll enjoy the biscuits. I think I've settled on what I want in a truck buy may have to order it. Dealer thinks he can keep the price within my limit though.

Sounds like you're doing quite a bit for a day off. My daughter surprised me with a visit this morning and brought me coffee and a bagel. Doesn't quite measure up to your wifes gravy but I was happy

I'm glad you enjoyed your unexpected treat. I have had quite a busy day, and it's not over yet. I'm running laundry right now so we can pack tonight since we plan to leave by 9 in the morning.

I think being at work would have been less tiring. But I did have a productive day.

Once I'm up and out of bed, it is extremely rare that I'll go back to bed a short time later.

You better say your wife's sausage gravy is the best or you may face dire consequences lol!

I would have to say it, but in this case it is true. My wife is an accomplished cook. Her homemade pizza is also better than anything we can get around here.
