Income Tax Time - Gotta laugh. Gotta smile. Gotta say this... Right now at "Income Tax Time" (and for the reasons of the usual political nonsense) a noisy bunch of politically-crazy people is yelling and carrying on about the USA's president keeping his income tax returns "secret." Evidently, those noisy folks want the rest of us to believe that the man is hiding something from us. The way I understand things about income tax returns, however, is that those tax returns are by law secret from all save the Internal Revenue Service, the taxpayer, and those who assist the payer in preparing the returns. So where do some people "get off" yelling to see the tax returns of anyone other than the IRS, the tax return preparers, and the tax payers themselves? I just now read an article about this stuff. Following the article were many pages of reader comments. What surprised me was that not a single commenter mentioned that the others commenting were unlikely to be capable of understanding the things detailed on the president6's tax returns - the returns that they are demanding to see. If they were able to really understand what is on the president's tax returns, why would so many of them have to run on down to "H&R Block" or "Jackson-Hewitt" or some other tax preparation service to help get their own tax returns written up. Obviously, they don't even understand their own tax preparation details, so what makes them want to see the returns of anyone else? Just askin' (Politics is a dumb and usually a considerably dirty game, isn't it?) Image: Pixabay, com

I think your last sentence hits the nail on the head. And you're right about the rest too.

@JudyEv - Ms Judy - AND that is why no one laughed at me when I suggested that there be a dispenser of sanitary hand wipe glued onto the side of each polling machine or at the table for voting where paper ballots are in use. -Gus-

@responsiveme - Friend ARM - Be very happy that you did not go into taxidermy. That would have been even more taxing than tax-paying. Taxpayers are close to being into that stuff. Most come out looking like goats or jackasses. -Gus-
