We still have the bus

Many of you know we have put our bus/motor-home up for sale. A guy flew from South Australia to Perth in Western Australia to look at the bus. As he was flying so far to see it, we were hopeful that he would buy it but I don't think that is going to happen. He thought there would be more storage space in the lockers underneath the bus but, being an older vehicle, there isn't the same room as some of the more modern coaches. We drove to Perth and back (2 ½ hours each way) to pick him up then took him back to the airport next day. He was a nice guy and we enjoyed chatting to him. He is probably as disappointed as we are. The upside is that we can now take the bus to Fairbridge Music Festival on Friday. On this occasion it will be more convenient than taking the caravan (camping trailer). There are no powered sites at Fairbridge and nowhere for waste water to run. The bus has a 'grey water' tank and an extra cartridge for the toilet, both of which we'll appreciate over the weekend.

Bummer it did not work out, good luck on your sale. At least the man was nice and you all had a nice chit chat.

That is a disappointment. I am sure that you will find a good buyer sooner or later. I think that guy is as disappointed as you, since he has wasted the time and airfare for nothing.

Yes, that's true. You wouldn't go to that much trouble if you weren't really interested.

@JudyEv Beautiful. The person"who would have been the buyer" is missing all this because the storage space is not enough?

You share quite a few stories about your adventures in the bus, so it's going to be sad to see it go. Are you going to get a new one, or are you just going to use the caravan once you sell the bus?

@JudyEv Sounds like you have it all figured out! I hope it all works out for you, and that you find a buyer for your bus!

@moffittjc Thanks. It would be nice if it sold before we headed for Ireland. Otherwise it sits idle till September.

We'll just use the caravan. We'll be able to unhitch the caravan and go poking around 4WD tracks and dirt tracks if we want to. We weren't able to do that in the bus and some of the best spots in Australia are 'off the beaten track' as they say and inaccessible in the bus.

Wow, that is a lot of traveling on both of your parts and disappointing that there was no sale from it. May I suggest putting a for sale sign in the window when you take it to the festival. That way you may get interested buyers that can look at it straight away and not have to travel. :)

Yes, it's the one in the photo. We stripped out an old bus and fitted this one out ourselves. Here's a photo where the overhead shelving, lights and air vents have all been removed.

It's great to travel in really. There is so much room. We've never filled all the spaces but we've only down trips of up to 10 days or so.

@much2say It weighs 12 tons so I can't drive it either, especially since it has a 'crash' gear-box (manual). I don't even like driving manual cars anymore.

You could perhaps take some detailed photographers and mail them to whoever has interest. Someone somewhere will get your bus. Just wait and watch (lol)

I dream that I could own one of these live in bus/ camping trailer here but I haven't seen anyone offering it for sale. It must be so useful to have. You said that your bus was an older version...but the inside looks so neat and new. If it were in my country I'll probably give you the sale. Would it be inappropriate to ask what is your selling price (you can always message me if you don't want to put it here)? The model of vehicle and age? Thank you Hope you do get it sold. Good luck.

It's a Leyland Tiger bus and it is 33 years old so it's no spring chicken. We are hoping to get $45,000 for it give or take a bit.

@JudyEv That is a good bit of years...although, again, I am impressed with the inside. The would be $45,000 US or Euro? I have to do a quick calculation in my head before it makes sense, you see.
