I'm Ready

I didn't go swimming this morning because I realized I wouldn't be ready in time for the apartment inspection in just a few minutes if I did. With my back now in excrutiating pain, I can't stand for a long time, I have everything accomplished. The dishes have been put through the dishwasher, the ones in there put away, and the floors are washed and everything else tidied.
It's an inspection to see how things are since I moved in and how things are working and if there is anything that needs doing. I have a small check list. One is the fridge. I need to get a new one. The seal around the freezer section isn't tight and I've wiped mold off it several times now. The temp gauge also needs to be kept at max, which also freezes the food in the fridge portion, but otherwise it thaws in the freezer and goes bad in the fridge faster. The other problem, which might not be a problem as I haven't lived in an apartment in more than thirty years I think, is that the toilet keeps turning on and running for a short time, like after a flush. Annoying. And there is a small crack in the ceiling or tear in the ceiling drywall. Anyway, not much wrong just a few minor things. Though I do hope they can get me a new fridge.
So all that happens in a few minutes, so I will leave you for a little bit, but I will be back.
Oh, I did hear from the nurse this morning, she will be calling me back as soon as she talks to the doctor.
I hope your day is going well so far. Thanks for reading.

She said it was a new fridge when I moved in, so the handyman will look it over to see if there is anything plugging it up and take care of the seal around the freezer.

@just4him Even with a new fridge you can have problems, our last one, which we dealt in with the home, was terrible. It was a Maytag and it made 3 different distinct loud noises, and it was very high maintenance as far as how often you had to pull it out and clean the back of it and that thing on the bottom. If we didn't do that regularly we were afraid that it would break down.

@Juliaacv They didn't do anything for the fridge except to put a thermometer in it to get the reading on it. He turned it down as soon as he opened the door as I had it turned all the way up. It looks like I was wrong about it. It's working fine. He told me what the temp is supposed to be for the freezer and the fridge and that's where it's holding. He did bring a new lower door shelf bar, so I can use that shelf again.
I'm sorry your fridge was such high maintenance.

She agreed about the toilet. She told me the fridge was new when I moved in so the handyman will check it out and see if there is anything plugged and see about the seal around the freezer. She did see how loose it was. So everything is good and the handyman will be here Friday to look everything over.

Is there a landlord to whom you can tell of your troubles?

Thank you so much. It is now feeling better since I got everything done and just in time too. I did break the mop for washing floors, it was cheap, so I'll need to get a new one, sturdier. Now I have the whole day to spend on my computer with everything done.

I hope the inspection goes well and you are able to get a new fridge. I know my toilet has been doing that same thing. I hesitate but I know I can ask maintenance to look at it..

Seems to be an easy fix. Let them know it's happening.

As I'm thinking about the fridge I forgot about the door shelf. The bottom one is almost broken in half. Though she did say it was new when I moved in. The handyman will be here on Friday to look it over and see if it's clogged up and get it working properly or replaced if necessary.

I have not lived in apartments since the early 70's so I'm not sure why you have an inspection? The toilet needs a new flapper. The fridge seems to be your biggest problem - you really do need a new one. Good luck.

I think that's what the manager said too about the toilet. The handyman will be here Friday to check the fridge and toilet out. She said the fridge is new when I moved in, and maybe something is plugging it that it isn't working the way it should. He will definitely take care of the seal.
