I wanted to read some weight loss related books so I bought this one for cheap on Amazon and read it only in a couple days. It was good! This is a memoir by Saxen, who reflects on his binge eating problems growing up in a relatively loveless family. He talks about his struggles also growing up as Jehovahs Witnessand being made fun of in school. He proceeds to lose a bunch of weight and become a model! For a few years while his food obsession seems to be replaced by an exercise addiction (he talks about how he would work out 5-6 hours a day and barely eat!) And then...something happens and he gains a lot of weight back. Eventually he ends up healthy with more balance in his life. At times this is hard to read but a great book, even for those who arent necessarily interested in the subject. Have you read anything good lately? Whats on your to read list?

I am glad you enjoyed the book - and I am doubly glad the author was able to pull up on top of his addictions. I'm not really reading much right now... I'm sort of going through a "short story" type reading thing..

Me too. I like happy endings for sure. What kind of short stories do you read, or are you writing them?

@maezee Reading, not writing. All of my writing gets posted to mylot... But it all varies. Sometimes romantic, sometimes suspenseful...

@ScribbledAdNauseum Oh nice. I think the only short story books Ive read have been by Stephen King (Night Shift and another one) and David Sedaris but those are more funny. Do you have any good ones to suggest?
