Visitors get the house cleaned

I've been lax with my housework since I started a part time job. Then... the daughter called and wondered if she and boyfriend can have dinner at my small flat. Of course! The implication of that is, I have to get my act together to make the place clean and tidy, as I haven't done any serious cleaning since I was on a job. I'm glad that I have a small place, it wasn't hard to wash the window sills, clear the table tops, vacuum and dust. I have a bit of stuff that I was sorting around the floor, so I bundled them all up and stored them all at the back of the boot. House cleaning is not my favourite chore. Cooking and ironing are... What's your favourite household chore?

I don't have one! I don't mind ironing if there isn't too much stacked up. Having visitors is a great way to get the house tidy. It works for me.

I hardly iron now though, I just fold most clothes straight from the dryer or the line. Our body heat straightens the clothes lol... I used to iron hubby's and kids' uniforms in the past.

@vickyrose I don't iron many items - hankies (I still use hankies), pillow-cases (unless they go straight back on the pillows) and the odd shirt or blouse.

@vickyrose I surely prefer to go out and wash the car than dusting.

I have observed that you do like cooking. I'm not a great fan of dusting. I'd rather wash my small collection of ceramic birds, tea sets and decorative plates than dust.

I can't afford a helper now. I used to have a house cleaning lady once a week when I was working full time. Supervising will do the job!

The same thing happened when your friend visited your house before. Lol

Yes, family or friends, we do like to make our abode presentable. I do basic cleaning without them but do more when we have visitors. It's just me.

Washing the dishes, doing the laundry, ironing clothes and cleaning the house. I hate cooking.

I used to bake a lot when the kids stayed with us. Yes, I tend to change the furniture arrangements from time to time.
