And they disappeared like magic!

The most common violation I see on mylot these past few days is plagiarism. I see one almost every day since last week. This kind of discussion has no room in mylot. And thank goodness for mylot patrols (the members who report and the admin as well) for doing their job so well in deleting the posts in a jiffy. Like magic, poof! They disappear.

I guess it's because they get deleted immediately. Or you might not be on here when they post it.

I immediately report when I see a plagiarized article. They MUST go.

In the past I had no idea how to detect a plagiarized post, then JJ taught me how to.

@hereandthere No, I do not believe they were deleted because they were flagged. I have the feeling that they are deleting those that get many comments, hoping to have the same success.

Yeah you are right, the deletion of this system is quite good and i guess more then 100 discussions were deleted on daily basis

I have no inkling of how many discussions are deleted in a day. I'm just glad the unworthy ones are promptly erased.

I like interacting than just making my own posts and I always end up with nothing to read if I just read those written by the ones I follow. So I always check the recent posts of the day. Me and most of the old mylot members usually check the recent posts so we would be able to see all of the posts either by new members or our friends. That also helps me determine the new people I will be following. That's how I get to see the violators in this site. It's more fun for me.

As it happens Toni, I had made a discussion very similar to another one without knowing it, but it was different enough not to be copying. But straight up plagiarizing is so wrong.

Because of similarities in experiences we can't avoid writing about the same topic but that doesn't mean you copied. Copy paste is definitely plagiarism.

There are some sites that allow borrowing of the photos with no acknowledgment. Mylot isn't strict about that. Bubblews was.

Because the admin is active and can delete any post that has violation that's been reported by other mylotters. Too bad for me that I no longer have a good eye against violators.

Yes, it is a shame that there are so many of them who try and sneak in here from time to time. I often wonder if some of them are just the same person each time with another user name? I know I had to report someone just recently in here for something as well.

It requires skills to write an original discussion, which everyone does not have. Plagiarized posts have no value here and they add to crap.

I've seen a lot of posts with no effort nor skill at all and yet they earn a lot. You don't have to steal other people's posts if you want to earn money here.

@toniganzon There are some desperate mylotters who would go to any extent to write any kind of posts to earn more money here, posts may not be serious or though provoking but as the host keeps commenting back and forth, in the process the host earns some cents for his/her interaction.

Right. It was JJ who taught me how to detect one. So since then, I became more vigilant. It's too easy to spot them actually.
