Vacation is exhausting!

I'm not complaining.. it's my own fault I'm so tired. I'm trying to do too much and make the most out of every second I have here. We arrived in Myrtle Beach on Tuesday after spending a day and half in DC. Wednesday morning I was out of bed at about 5:30 in the morning. I wanted to watch the sun rise over the ocean, but it was too cloudy to see the sun. It did end up coming out and gave us a beautiful 80 degree day! I got the boys up early so we could check out the beach. Some jellyfish wash up periodically and we've never seen a jellyfish or the ocean so that was cool. Then the boys started playing in the water and in the sand.. and I decided I wanted to play in the ocean too. We spent hours playing on the beach! We took a break for lunch and headed to the boardwalk. We shopped a little and I bought a couple body boards. We came back to the beach to try them out and it was awesome! We decided we needed a couple more body boards because we all loved it so much. After dinner we played badminton on the beach until it was too dark to see anymore, then the kids jumped in the pool for awhile. I had to drag them out because I was falling asleep in my pool chair! I wanted to try to get up early again today to attempt to watch another sunrise.. but I didn't even begin to stir until 7am, and I was too darn tired to get out of bed that early. I forced myself up at 8.. but the rest of the family is still asleep! I will be getting them up soon for another busy day of fun! We want to try to visit the aquarium today, and I expect we'll be on those body board again. Our high school baseball team is down here playing a tournament and the kids want to go to a game if we have time... I think someone needs to teach me how to relax while on vacation. Lol!! I took this picture from the top of the skywheel.

What a great time you're having! No wonder you're having trouble keeping up such a pace. Do you really mean you've never seen the ocean? Just wondering.....

I did when I was 9, but not since. Having a big family at a young age limits travel opportunities

@JudyEv I'm really a 5 or 6 hour drive from the ocean.. I live in Central NY.. so fairly close to the East Coast. But again, lack of money meant lack of travel. We're slowly getting to a point where we can do a bit of travelling, and I've loved all the places we've been visiting over the past year!

@katsmeow1213 And there is a lot of America that is a long way from the ocean too.

What a beautiful place. You will need a vacation to recover from your vacation when you get back home. Glad to hear everybody is having so much fun and enjoying the beach.

We are loving it, and it is gorgeous here. I don't want to leave, but a small part if me does miss home

It's always work for the parents - a lot to organize and keep everyone else organized - but in the end it's a lot of fun family memories and all very worth it! I would have tried to pack it all in too - it's not everyday we get to go on vacation, right?

Exactly, and it was our first time at the ocean, so I wanted to enjoy every moment of it

@katsmeow1213 Oh wow, I didn't realize it was your first time at the ocean (or do you mean at that particular beach?). The kids must've loved it!!

@much2say Both.. I went to Maine when I was 9, but don't remember it, and I was wearing a heavy coat so I definitely didn't swim in the ocean, if I even saw it. This was my first time really being able to see and appreciate the ocean.. the kids' first time also.

@katsmeow1213 That's wise and good for the kids, too, before going back to school.

Often times vacations are tiring as you said because you are trying to get in everything you want to do. You have to go home after vacation just for the rest lol. Have fun and get some rest.

Very impressive. When on vacation you should spend more time relaxing.
