I was in a fast food today. While waiting for my order, a group of students was giggling to each other. One thing that I had noticed, most of them lift the drink's straw and sip the fluid. It shouldn't be. Students are becoming weird and making its style of reversing the real usage of straw. They are making their lives complicated.
Do you find it weird?

I have to agree... it's probably for attention and have to admit, that my generation probably did some weird things too... just to the attention

Like Alfred says they want people to see them and notice them I guess.
Never mind lets hope its a passing fad.

@Shavkat
They do some strange things here too sometimes.
I just take them as part and parcel of what they are.
Its just that we were living a much stricter upbringing also and were not allowed to let our hair down like that.

I do agree. It is becoming a trend with the young ones.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I agree. I think we can just be aware of what they are doing. It is up to the parents how to deal with their children.

Okay, I'm guilty of that but in my defense I only do that when I drink shakes. I guess its a habit.

I have done that before..
Mostly, I have done it with thick milkshakes.
But I have also done it with other drinks.. If you with the straw in the liquid place your finger on the top of the straw the suction will hold the liquid in the straw and you then drink it from the bottom.. it's just a little bit of science.

@homebasedbobbie I think you are running to the genre, my friend. You are still young. I hope it is not trendy nowadays.

@Shavkat What's weird in that? Maybe isn't it their choice, unless they make a really loud slurping sound, disturbing everyone!

@Shavkat if they do this at a public place, then this is just attention grabbing on their part
