Sister Day Tomorrow

My older sister and I are both retired, but our younger sister works sadly. But tomorrow she is off work and has decided she wants to spend the day with us. I am excited, we don't get to spend the day together very often so when she calls we both go running. I come from a family with 5 of us siblings. Three girls and two boys in that order. My mom should have had 8 kids but she had a still born and two miscarriages. So us 3 girls are the oldest of the bunch and oddly enough our birthdays are very unusual to say the least. My older sister and I are exactly 1 year and 1 day apart. Her birthday is June 29 mine is June 30. My younger sister and I are exactly 11 months to the day apart, her birthday is May 30. Needless to say my parents were good Catholics lol. So the day my younger sister was born my parents had a almost 2 year old, an 11 month old and a newborn. Crazy stuff if you ask me. But because of our close births we are very close sisters. And totally different as we can be. Karen my older sister is very private. I am more opinionated and boisterous, and my younger sister Janet is very emotional. Some people say we look similar but I don't think so. Karen has red hair, I have brown hair, Janet is a blond. But one thing that is true is our voices. My husband has a very hard time deciding who is on the phone, Karen or Janet, and my mom said the same thing. Once we all moved out and one would call she for a couple of seconds had to really concentrate on who she was talking to. And we are her kids for goodness sake. Oh yea another thing that is very similar about us sisters is our height. We are all extremely short. I am the 2nd oldest but am the shortest at 4 foot 10 inches. My 2 sisters are at about 5 feet each. Do you have similarities you share with you sibllings, or are you all very different.?

@fishtiger58 My parents were both not very tall, my brother is the tallest in the family, even if some of my cousins are very tall too.

I'm the oldest... my next sister is very different from me in just about everything. My little sister... we are very much alike! Funny how things are played out.

Well me and my brother share some similarities but not to much, my younger half brother Kenneth looks just like our dad from pictures we saw of him as a kid. My sister doesn't really look like anyone in our family, and my other two younger half Siblings look like there mother.

I am the spitting image of my mom, I have heard it all my life. Some of us favor our dad and some our mom.

I only have one sister..We have some similarities but major differences as well. One thing that is funny though is that our voices are identical. The only one who could tell our phone voices apart is my dad.!

It's so strange when your voice sounds like someone else even if it's a sibling. Apparently we all 3 sound alike. To me it our voices don't sound the same but most other people think we do.

I come from a similar family-good Catholics who didn't practise birth control quite the same way we did! I am second out of 4 kids, and the only girl-yeah......life was really good being the only one. My older brother is 1 day shy of 11 moths older then I am. My parents had all 4 kids within 4 years. Being a parent myself, I do not know how they did that. Out of all of us 4 kids none of us go by our given names, we all go by a shortened version of it or by a middle name.

All my siblings go by their given name except they don't call me by my given name, they all call me Tiger because my dad nicknamed me that when I was 1 year old. The entire family calls me Tiger still to this day and I"m almost 59 lol.

My two oldest daughters are 19 months apart in age and I thought that was hard. I can't imagine how your mom took care of three babies so close in age but it's really nice that the three of you are so close. My youngest daughter is three years younger than daughter #2 and then along came my son a few years later. My oldest and youngest daughter look very much alike in height, weight and hair color. The middle daughter is short and looks like my inlaws side of the family. My son has a little resemblance but everyone kids that he was adopted as he's tall and slim.

That's great you're so much alike. Everyone said I sounded like my mom on the phone. My sister is taller than me, though we both have the same hair color. She's also much prettier. We don't look alike. I'm 4'11"
