While I was over at my moms she gave me more yarn I have enough to make a afghan for our bed I started working on it while I was there might work more on it this weekend I am hoping to have it done by this winter just depends on how much I work on it. Does anyone else like to crochet or even knit? I only crochet.

I've been looking at hand crochet and want to try making an afghan with that method. I am horrible with tension but think if I didn't have a "hook" in my way, I might be a bit better at it. I have lots of yarn, but all around Medium Worsted Weight. I should get some super bulky, but I don't want to waste my money. As it is I have several looms and don't use them that much at all... Oh and the hand crochet? It's using a chain and single crochet stitch only.

Me and my sisters use to hand crochet when we we're younger. I am also like you when it comes to tension when crocheting using a hook but I am working at it. I only use the singel and double crochet pattern would like to learn more though. I have a bunch of the peaches n creme yarn that you use to make dishcloths butI want to learn a different pattern to make them.

@Tina30219 Do you use sites like ravelry? I can't remember, but I think that is sort of a "member's only" type of site.. There are all sorts of places for patterns so you can get an idea of how you'd want to do it differently. I could only really do the single and double crochet when I would use a hook... I think I tried the triple? My mom and aunt learned to crochet from my grandmother's good friend. My mom was the only one that "took off" with it. She used to sale her items (dolls, magnets) at flea markets.

@ScribbledAdNauseum My mom could only teach me the single and double crochet pattern because that is all she knows also. No I am not with any sites like that I am with pinterest and they have some good stuff as well. My mom use to make baby blankets and sell them at craft bazars also but she don't do nothing no more.
