We read mystery, suspense and thrillers. Also there are many fantasy and horror books in the market. There are readers for romance books. What about funny books-books with humour? Which book have you found to be funny or humorous? As for me,though some books even if they were not"LOL" funny,I liked them for the funny situations. Books by P.G.Wodehouse(With Jeeves and Bill),Jerome K Jerome,James Thurber and Mark Twain are some of them.I would like to read the latest book by Ellen Degeneres. How many of you found The Hitch Hiker's guide to the Galaxy as the funniest book?

P.G.Wodehouse(With Jeeves and Bill),Jerome K Jerome,James Thurber and Mark Twain --- Yes! The Hitchhiker's Galaxy not so much because I don't like fantasy and science fiction. There are some very funny parts but I find it hard to read the whole book(s). Degeneres is a new name for me. Must check her out.

@MALUSE I was wondering why so many were saying it was the funniest book. Ellen Lee DeGeneres is an American comedian, television host, actress, writer, and producer. DeGeneres starred in the popular sitcom Ellen from 1994 to 1998 and has hosted her syndicated TV talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, since 2003.(wikipedia).

@silvermist Thanks. I've checked her out on Amazon. She may be too American for foreigners. When names are dropped of people one doesn't know , reading can become frustrating.

@MALUSE I am pretty sure you would not appreciate Ellen DeGeneres, she is only and American show woman, as she is very popular now she writes book. An all American thing.

Many of the books my 7th-grade students read were pretty funny. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian was a funny one for the kids and for me too.

I haven't read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. One funny author is Lawrence Block. He writes a book series about a burglar.
