Honest or dishonest what difference does it make here?

myLot rules expect users not to violate them. Whether a user says they are rich or poor, married or not married, educated or not educated............ while replying to posts it matters little whether they are being honest or not. It is for their own peace that they tell the truth and not to please another user here. What say?

I have no use for out-and-out liars, here or anywhere. I watch some users posting things that I am 99% sure are not the truth...and I ignore them. They are not going to receive interaction from me, which means they are not going to receive earnings from me. So I would say it does matter, somewhat.

For me personally it is about being morally upright wherever I am but that is just me and others might be different.

I agree. Whatever their replies are, its theirs. As long as they are their own comments it doesn't matter.

Some enjoy the idea of living in a fool's paradise and write what they want to be but not what they are. Matters little as long as they do not break myLot rules (lol)

When I accept someone as my friend here in mylot or add one as my friend, I always give the benefit of the doubt that they're not lying. But when I realize that they do, I just don't interact with them anymore. I guess honesty matters to me, because friendship matters to me.

since I don't know the truth about you, I will believe you, I won't think twice , either if you lie it won't kill me, it will continuously make you guilty, but some day, it will catch up with you hahaha

@allknowing I don't understand the logic. Lying can be in someone's own interest! A good liar needs a good memory in order not to slip. If they succeed and get away with it, lying can be to their advantage.

@MALUSE I did not say that there are no liars here. There may be plenty of them but whether they get peace by doing that is not known.

I have my own standards in this world that I live by. I don't like lying and I don't like others who lie all the time. I am an open book with nothing to hide-here or anywhere else so I choose to tell the truth. I actually found someone not lying per se but being someone who I never thought they would be. I don't interact with them now much because I was so disappointed in who they really are...

This is such an interesting topic for discussion. I find it remarkable that people who are able to hide, or mask themselves behind a keyboard, much like those veiled, or cloaked in gowns or robes, will always tend to feed others with the imagery of what they want you to see. Sadly, Our Heavenly Father, and the Bible urge us to be honest, and honorable, yet IF HUMANS can defy God, then what truth can one expect to find on the internet highway? Mind boggling isn't it? Another sad reality is, some people can't handle truth, and therefore cast others out of their lives for being truthful. At least on the internet or social media sites, we always have the "block, delete, report as spam" option.

The only reason why one would want to be dishonest is perhaps to attract others to their posts and thus have an opportunity to earn - not a right approach,.

Being truthful is easier than telling lies in the long run. With falsehoods you must remember what lie you told to whom, and continue supporting that lie with further lies. Truth stands on its own and is much easier to manage.

Uuuhh ... honesty matters everywhere. (???) Doesn't it? Where are we going with this discussion? Are you saying since it's an online discussion forum you can generously dole out "alternative facts" and nobody will be any the wiser? That's a joke. The "alternative facts" part. Hope you get my sense of humor. You may not get it if you're not American. But seriously ... being a liar, no matter "where" can hardly be a good thing. Surely it matters.

@AbbyGreenhill There is nothing that myLot can do about it. In the real world they could perhaps be booked but not here. All what one can do is to walk away when they are spotted. A juicy post perhaps packed with lies sometimes gets to the top of the top rated. It cannot be pulled down because it has not broken myLot rules.
