Bubbles and Mistress had just settled in the rocker
Some one pounded hard on the door then a falling sound
Bubbles followed Mistress to the door there lay a man.
Mistress gasped."holy Mother McLeod oh no."
She bent and saw he was just unconscious
Maceod McKinney her ex husband on her doorstep
Bubbles knew him , sat there patting his face
She phoned for the paramedics shaking like a leaf
She and Bubbles followed the ambulance to the hospital
In the waiting room Bubbles patted his Mistress as she wept
A doctor came "\Mrs McKinney Im sorry, he did not make it.'
Tears came, bitter alone,, loved him but divorced, he had strayed
Back home Bubbles clung to her, both seated iin the rocker
"Old cjhum he loved you."tears poured down herr face
Bubbles patted her arm, wanting to make her stop crying.
She dried her tears, petting Bubbles so gently
They had divorced because he could not stay
Like a wild bird, Macleod had to be in flight
But she never stopped loving him no ,matter what
Now Bubbles clung to her two friends in pain.

Would be the start of a good short story worth publishing.
