Have you ever tried being a vegetarian?

I am an animal lover and being a vegetarian is generally healthier and cheaper so I have tried it before. I have never been able to do it for more than a month though. I can't help it, I am a carnivore. Meat is just soo good! It may not be super good for you..but I love it!

Honestly, I think I would have a hard time living without meat. I can't help it. I like the taste of meat.

I haven't tried it. I might die if not going to eat meat.

I have no desire to be vegetarian or vegan no matter what the claim is...I've lived 68 years just fine and plan on eating meat the rest of my years.

I could never live without meat. I try to cut back on bacon and sausage, though.

Yeah, red meat in general isn't very good for you and processed meats like bacon, sausage and lunchmeat are the worst really.

I have never tried it but I have thought about it, but I realized that I really love burgers and chicken so it would be hard for me. Plus a lot of veggies getting born fast and I hate the taste of tofu.

Tofu can be good when prepared corrrectly, but you have to know what you are doing.

@snowy22315 I've tried it several ways and cooked by different people I still don't like it. No offense but nothing fake can taste like as good as real meat and that includes what most resutrants & fast foods fed us & call it meat.

I can give up red meat, no problem. But no meat? I'm not very good at that. It's got so much protein, and it's hard for me to find other sources I can eat for meals that have just as much protein, that actually fill me up.

That isn't so much of a factor for me, I just like and enjoy meat. I don't ever see myself not eating it to be honest.

No, I am not, and do know people have been, a few passed away early or developed other health problems. So for me I don't know there would be a health benefit. It would have be for animal reasons.. I think I will leave well enough alone and eat the way I eat.

That might have happened anyway. Vegans have some of the lowest cholesterol around.

I eat fish and seafood but I've not had 'meat' in 26 years. I am not even tempted.

I personally would count fish and seafood as "meat" however, I Know many don't.

@snowy22315 I never claim to be a vegetarian. But most people do distinguish between meat and fish. And you did focus on meat in your post.

I have never specifically tried to be a vegetarian, but there are some times that I don't eat meat for a few days. I'm like you though, I can't keep away from it for too long because it's really tasty.

I understand you, it's hard to leave meat, I have never tried to be vegetarian, maybe one day i'll try it, because animal cruelty is something horrible, and I love animals.

I haven't no, but not thinking, when I was younger, I hardly ate any meat at all. I try not to eat a lot of it now too. I don't know if I could go completely without meat though.

I've tried it, but it doesn't work out very well for me. My body doesn't process vegetable proteins very well, and I have a tendency to be iron and B-12 deficient. Eating vegetarian for long periods of time, even by carefully choosing and combining my foods, worsens my health issues. As much as I'd like to be kinder to the animal kingdom, I literally can't survive without consuming animal products.

I have done it a couple times for a week or two. I like meat too much.I do however have a friend who has been a vegetarian for 45 years and doesn't regret a thing,

My ex husband's sister has been a vegetarian and later a vegan since she was 11. She is very serious about it. I doubt she has ever "sinned." If she has, she wouldn't tell us about it.
