I am a happy camper thanks to my drug dealer

Drugs, drug dealers, where am I going with this you ask? Ha Ha, no not that kind of drug and not that kind of dealer... I use Symbicort and have been using it for several years. I have bronchial asthma. Without a hit of Symbicort a day I wheeze, with it I don't wheeze. It's not cheap even with insurance. I know that if I didn't have insurance the inhaler I have would cost over a thousand dollars. We get our drugs from an online outfit and they are shipped to us. We use them because they are associated with our health insurance company. Two of my blood pressure meds are free, the inhaler I pay for. The last time I got a refill it was $225 - and has been that price since I started on it. Well, today I'm a happy camper and $40 richer. I just ordered a refill and the price is now $185. Thanks to Symbicort and AstraZeneca - I'm breathing easier and for less money! Photo from Pixabay

My husband and I are fortunate that neither of us use any medication. We have no insurance coverage. It's probably been about ten years since I've taken any prescription Meds.

We both have high blood pressure but our meds are all free for that. My husband uses a different inhaler - so that's not too bad money wise.

I have none either and I pay cash for the hormones and I get metformin for diabetes free at Publix.

I have asthma and COPD, and when I get a respiratory infection it's bad, otherwise one hit a day with the inhaler and I'm ok.

its good when your meds are affordable. Living in Canada is a good thing, all my meds just cost $4.11now that I'm a senior citizen. Before that it was very expensive but our doctors are free...

Our health plan is zero premium and out main doc has zero co-pay. It's the inhalers that kill us LOL! So saving 40 is a good thing for me.

I love the way you often have suggestive titles such as the one above! I feel for you. Our government subsidizes asthma inhalers and heart related medicines such as for blood pressure and cholesterol. I use Symbicort and it costs me hardly anything at all

I live the USA and we don't the same 'benefits' you have in other countries. I am happy I 'only' pay 185. Thanks - about the titles, they just pop in my head!

The husband of one of my best friends works for AstraZeneca, he knows very well that the pharma companies could lower the prices, if they only would like to.

@AbbyGreenhill One thing is sure, they make a lot of money. I see how much those friends spend. They are back now from a 3 weeks vacation in Japan, last Christmas they were at the Seychelles and in expensive hotels.

I worked for a pharmaceutical company for 10 years before retiring so I know too how much money they are making! It got me a fantastic salary, huge bonuses and lots of great benefits. I don't use any of the meds they produce.

I tried Symbicort and didn't like it @AbbyGreenhill . I use Proair which is an albuterol inhaler and I like it a lot and it only costs me $6.

I have asthma and I do not take anything. I have managed to rid my life of the triggers so I do not have to use the inhalers. I think I was born with asthma. I am glad you are $40 richer
