Heading back today

The photo shows a salmon berry blossom. Native Americans ate these berries as part of their annual gathering of food time. The berries are kind of soft and odd but not horrible. I took this photo in a place called Whatcom Falls park. Sally and I walked over a stone bridge that was built in the 1930s to get this photo. Its a city park and yet its wild with cascading water and gigantic majestic fir trees and underbrush. Lush with life and poetry: a place that calls the feet to action. Walk! Stretch and sniff and live. Go! Get out of the car and explore. Forget that your body aches. Go get your Mother Earth fix. Perfect for Earth Day.

Wow, that's pretty kool @sallypup I've always wanted to get shots of wolves or coyotes but wolves are extremely shy so I know I'll never get to see one outside of a stupid zoo and coyotes, although curious and a little less shy, won't hold still long enough to get a decent shot.

@rebelann I've seen coyotes but never gotten a photo of one of the clever guys. I think the book is called God's Dog- forget who wrote it. A gifted woman, I think. Anyway God's Dog talks beautifully about the social aspect of coyotes and why its not a great job to just go out and kill them all.

@rebelann You would have laughed your fanny off. First I about fell off my bench when I saw a kingfisher bird and then a cormorant winging over a lake. I don't see those glorious birds much where I live. Second you would have fallen down ha haing at me as I snuck up on a deer- poor guy was just munching his breakfast and there I was, trying to snap photos of his cuteness. I got some, too.

I hope I can get out and get my fix. Weather is looking good and I am hoping to at least set out side soon and work it from there. That's a pretty flower.

@silvermist I'm glad you were able to see the blossom. Sometimes motel internet service is not always the greatest. For a moment I thought it was me.
