Authors you never read

A few days ago I wrote a post where I said I finished reading my first Stephen King book. This may be surprising to some readers since King is a big name and his books are popular. His stories have been around for years and I've seen a few of his movies/TV shows, but never got the chance to read any of his books. This post has me thinking about some other authors whose books I've never read. JK Rowling's Harry Potter books are some that I never read. I've also never read Nora Roberts, Danielle Steel, Janet Evanovich, or John Grisham to name a few; although I do want to eventually read some of their books when the time permits. Is there a big-named authors whose books you never read? If so, what kept you from reading their books?

I've read nearly all of Janet Evanovich's books. Her characters are too funny. Gone With the Wind is a book that comes to mind. When my classmates read it secretly under their desks during lessons at school, I didn't. I can't remember why. I must have read something else then.

@dramagirl26 You can read them in any order but I'd start at the beginning. It's easy to get them in the right order as they all have numbers in their titles. I couldn't answer your question even if I wanted to. The books are entertaining while you're reading them but nothing you remember for years.

@MALUSE I brought a few of Janet's books, but haven't gotten around to them yet. Out of all of Janet's books, which ones are your favorites?

I have always been a reader, I've read all the names you mentioned but i also listen to books on CD from the library while I paint. Most are interesting and favorites but some times I bring home one that is not so good. I listen to the all and just don't get the authors that I don't like.

@dramagirl26 He wrote three one each year, I see on line there are other books but without his name so I'm not sure what that means, I will have to look into it. I would read them in order...all three were wonderful.

I'm sure there are many books I haven't read by many authors. I'm too busy reading bags of books my husband had collected for me over the years. Just read another Danielle Steel book, love Nora Roberts, and Grisham every now and then. I must read One Man, by our friend, Andrew Gross.

Stephen King is a great author. However, his thriller genre is one that keeps me away. I've never read him and have no intention of doing so. I like my sleep. However, he does have a book that isn't thriller but does interest me, so I might just be reading that one, when I remember to get it that is. He has a book on writing. Perfect for me. I have read all the Harry Potter books, fully recommend them, I've read a couple Danielle Steel, and John Grisham. I haven't read Nora Roberts. I'm sure there are a lot of authors I haven't read, big name that is.
