Typing between the rain drops

HughesNet Satellite Internet and rain do not mix...I knew that going in but had no choice. But there is a huge downside to it in bad weather.
We had rain start Saturday evening about 6:30 and it is now 3:30 Sunday afternoon and it has not stopped raining. We are at 8 1/2 inches and counting. It is still pouring. Our sump pump is working overtime thank goodness.
The photo is the pond, but that photo was taken several hours ago. It is worse now...a giant puddle of chocolate milk - it came very close to the dock but so far so good. The water runs through a drain pipe which goes down to the neighbors pond so his is overflowing also.
Not only do we get water from the rain but from two springs running down the mountain into the pond. That's why the original owners had the pond dug in the first place, it was the perfect spot for one.
It has taken me hours trying to comment back on posts so forgive me if I don't keep up today. I type a word and five minutes later it shows up! But it's better than no internet I guess.

That sounds quite awful 
We have trouble with our internet connection when there is rain too 
And of course, floods and the water is so brown and dirty... I remembered seeing a picture of flood in Japan, i think it was at the train station and the water was quite clean..

We have red clay soil and a hill and when it rains hard the red clay slides down hill into the pond.

I enjoy rain but not ongoing. When it lasts too long it gets depressing. I hate it when the weather is extreme and the internet poops out. It's dry here. Blue sky but we've had a lot of wind.

@celticeagle It's damp that is why I turned it on for a few minutes....we will be back in the 80's and all will be well LOL!

we had all that rain yesterday.Today is great.I loved it.Sun and Sun and warm.The rain return Wednesday.Again?boo hoo.

24 hours of rain is enouogh! I don't remember this much rain other than the day we moved to TN - we drove in solid heavy rain from Luray, VA to Cosby, TN and when we got to a rental cabin we couldn't get out of the car the lot was flooded...what a mess.

It's so annoying when the internet plays up like that...I hope the rain stops soon for you.... will it drain away quite quickly...
