Best Sunday in quite some time!

It's been one gorgeous day here and I've taken advantage of it. I spent some time outside, doing a little walking, doing a little reading and talking with some of the other residents of our building. The nice weather seems to have brought out the smiles in everyone today, and that's always a very good thing. Once inside, the phone didn't stop ringing, which is quite unusual. A friend of my nephew called. She recently began getting books delivered from her library and she's been so excited about that. But she had questions and since she knows that I also have books delivered, she thought I'd be the one to ask. So, we had a very nice conversation about books and the library and ended up trying to figure out when we'd see each other again. That led to another phone call. This was my nephew. He has planned a day for the three of us, plus another friend, to get together and go out for lunch. That sounded great to me, so we all wrote the date down and now we wait. I tried contacting my niece to see how her cat is doing, but she's either sleeping, has the phone shut off or she's out. I'm sure I'll hear from her before the evening is over. Large salad for dinner. I threw some leftovers in there so it had protein and even a little fruit. So good! I'm making a pudding parfait for dessert a little later with some sugar free chocolate pudding, some cool whip free and a few strawberries, just because! I've been reading City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare. It's Book Four of a series and I've been racing through it. I have the next book waiting for me in the library book bag, so I won't have to wait for that one! Hope you've all had a good weekend. I'll be shutting down early to get to sleep since I have the pool in the morning. 12 hours from now I'll be getting ready to walk out the door! Best way I know of to begin a new week! Claudia

I see you enjoy reading. I do too. I recently decided to make my life a little less stressful and more enjoyable and have turned into an avid reader. There's nothing better than reading for relaxation.

I agree! My mother brought books into my life at a very early age and she would sit and talk with me about some of the stories I was reading, especially once she started me on The Bronte Sisters and other classics. And that helps me realize that I could learn from people in books, that their problems could take me away from mine, and that after an hour or so of reading I could really feel like a whole new person!

@CRK109 I reread Jane Eyre this past year. I was amazed at how much I was able to both sympathize and empathize with her. The Bronte sisters were amazing although they pretty much had short, difficult lives. Did you happen to see the Bronte sisters PBS special on TV about a month or two ago?

Do you swim regularly Claudia? I should take more exercise, but I only do gardening and walking.

I take water aerobics classes twice a week, in order to get strength and help my knees. I can move around in the water so much easier than I can on land and it's been helping quite a bit. Once I do get stronger, I will go three times a week.

That all sounds very good. It has been good here as well. Sunshine, outdoor time, adventures, you name it.

I wish every community had something like this. It helps so many people who just cannot afford to buy books and who can't get themselves to the library.

Happy that your weekend turned out great. Mine was okay - except for too much rain.

I'm so sorry about the rain. I know all too well how that is since we just survived a week of that wet stuff! Hope you get some sunshine soon!
