*Rant of the moment* One of the constant things in my life has been that no matter what car I have ever owned in my life, the left a.c. vent on the dashboard of my car is always flopping loose. It never stays put in place. Every time I hit a minor bump it closes shut. I go over train tracks, the vents close. I make a turn, the vent goes loosey goosey. I.m tired of it. Im really close to just ripping out the darn thing and make an air duct out of an aluminum can to direct the air where I need/want it to go. The side to side has always been the only thing that has ever worked. It's the up and down vents that pi$$ me off. I've tried everything to hold it in place. Everything from stuffing gum wrappers, attaching air freshner clips, thin pieces of wire, the metal blade from windshield wipers, gum, tacky stuff, drop of glue, voodoo, expletives, leprechaun bone fragments, unicorn hair and many other techniques that I have forgotten.
