Lefty is Loosey

Floppy P.O.S.!

*Rant of the moment* One of the constant things in my life has been that no matter what car I have ever owned in my life, the left a.c. vent on the dashboard of my car is always flopping loose. It never stays put in place. Every time I hit a minor bump it closes shut. I go over train tracks, the vents close. I make a turn, the vent goes loosey goosey. I.m tired of it. Im really close to just ripping out the darn thing and make an air duct out of an aluminum can to direct the air where I need/want it to go. The side to side has always been the only thing that has ever worked. It's the up and down vents that pi$$ me off. I've tried everything to hold it in place. Everything from stuffing gum wrappers, attaching air freshner clips, thin pieces of wire, the metal blade from windshield wipers, gum, tacky stuff, drop of glue, voodoo, expletives, leprechaun bone fragments, unicorn hair and many other techniques that I have forgotten. Rant over, thanks for reading. Photograph- Taken/Owned by me, Plethos

Have you tried the blood of a virgin who dances around his {it has to be a male} bedroom in his underpants whilst wearing a traffic cone on his head?

Surely the underpants are surplus to requirements in that scenario...?

@infatuatedbby - the a.c. line is a pickup line around here when you see a cute lady walking. - " Hey chula, need a ride? A.C. is nice and cold. " - " Pretty girl like you shouldnt be sweating, you should be freezing in this car "

Have you tried looking this problem up on YouTube. We are able to resolve many of our problems through watching a video there. Good luck.

I had one of those, the right-side is usually OK though, given that's the driver's side here...

@Plethos Rumour has it that Peugeot, a French car maker, used to do that very thing to make cars for the right-hand drive markets... The wiring looms used to be under tension, giving out well ahead of the car's expected lifetime...

Uhm... Plethos, why didn't you just replace the vent? BTW, if you still have some of the unicorn hair, I could use a little bit of it. You did get tail hair, not mane hair, right? (Everyone knows unicorn mane hair doesn't have the same amount of magic in it that tail hair carries.)
