Today I am trying to use up a bunch of leftovers.
Unfortunately it made so much. This to will be a leftiver. Lol
I had leftover pasta. Leftover ham and a couple of plum tomatoes I almost forgot about.
I decided to bring them all to work along with a frozen mac and cheese dinner and some extra cheese. I fixed up the tomatoes and ham and threw the frozen mac n cheese on top of the pasta in the bowl and stuck it in the microwave.. Added some garlic powder an d pepper and Voila!!
I know some people who will not eat leftovers. I find that a waste. But to each his own.
Some people feed them to their pets.
What do you do with yours? Do you have any favorite dishes you've created from them?

Sometimes I cook extra of spaghetti sauce, veggie soup, or chili and freeze for a quick meal when we are in a crunch for time. I have also been known to get a lasagna ready to go into the oven and freeze it so when I want to make it I just have to put it in the oven to save time. As far as other things we reheat and eat them the next evening or reheat them and eat them for a snack. If there is just a spoonful or not enough worth putting in a bowl and keeping I put it in with the dogs food. I can't stand to waste food.

We store leftovers in the fridge and steam them for reuse.

@allknowing very cool. I have a machine that can cook with steam - but I have never tried it myself. I guess I have gotten spoiled with the microwave oven.

@minx267 You take out the quantity you require, place it in a colander and place the colander on top of a vessel with water. Close the colander. Place it on gas and you may need about 15 minutes for the food to be ready.

ah, I dont know how much I would eat or want to I usually cook a whole one pound package.
I don't mind the left over pasta depending on what kind. I can do many things with leftover Elbow Pasta.
I make pasta salad or I add milk to it and heat it up and add salt.

oh, if we have leftover salmon, i can cook it with eggs (omelet), or add vermicelli and more broth so we will have soup for the meal.
leftover hotdog, i cook it with tomatoes and add water, salt, and pepper. so, leftovers are all eaten here at home.

I don't eat fish. But I can see where that would make a great breakfast. and I love that hot dog Idea.
I often take left over meat and add it to rice or pasta dishes, or even throw it into a soup for some more substance. I really do not mind eating leftovers. I think it is sometimes just easier to make something that way.

@ridingbet that is true I like to clean my plate also. But I often make too much and then I try to diet. so it is great to put it aside and have some I can take to work and just reheat in the microwave there.

@minx267 i do not like the idea of throwing away leftovers. i would also prefer to eat everything on my plate. i always recall what my late mother told us:" you are lucky you have food to eat;think about those who have nothing to fill their stomachs."

I think leftovers have a better flavor than they did the first time around. I enjoy goulash and you can add quite a bit to that.Using whatever is in the frig is sometimes a little scary.

@Lupita234 .....A hungarian dish Americans have changed. It is very tasty. Here's a recipe and picture.
Macaroni is cooked in a spicy tomato sauce flavored with onions, garlic, paprika and chili powder. Add cooked ground beef to make a hearty, satisfying meal.
