What do you think is the reason for the rampant sexualization of the music industry?

While a healthy bit of sexual expression is good, it seems as if the current music industry has taken this tendency to its heights. Why do you think this trend has arisen? Share your thoughts in the comments.

It's what most people like to hear, and upcoming artistes use that to make more dollar bills. Long gone are the days when artistes used music to make sense

Haha, true. Some of the lyrical content is indeed poor. It's more about making catchy music, with repetitive sounds & lyrics than creating something new and creative. I salute those artists that choose not to fall for these trends but pursue their own style and gain a following that way. :)

because people support it? which is just really sad these songs even have catchy tunes when all they talk about it 'doing it' and the music videos are all about ladies who are barely clothed, dancing around guys

I think music is everywhere. I also like music. It can bring me happiness. Sometimes I'll listen when I'm sad

Okay. I suppose you can turn anything into music, if you find it appealing. Nice to hear that it makes you happy and lifts you up when you're down. Regarding the sexualised music of today, why do you think it has become so popular?

Maybe people tend to like that and they just try to cater to the public. Actually it is bad.
