Green Bay's Finest

I had to leave for a short moment to pick up a prescription from the pharmacy. On the way I got pulled over. No, I was not speeding. The officer was questioning the licence plate that came back to my old car. He gave me a warning and told me I need to get a paper tag for the car until the paperwork came through from DMV. I went to DMV showed the woman the warning and my paperwork. She said the officer was wrong. The paperwork I had was valid, the plates were transferred, and I was completely legal. She is a state officer herself, wrote her badge number and name on my car documents and also put on there that it was valid. So I got an unnecessary warning from an officer who didn't know what he was talking about. Have you ever been stopped by an officer who made you think you were in the wrong when he/she was and you got a ticket/warning unnecessarily? Looking like rain in Green Bay. Thanks for reading.

I thought Green Bay's finest were the Packers.

Well of course they are! In this instance I was referring to those others who think they are.

I'm glad he gave you a warning ..even though he was wrong, as getting your money back from paying a fine may have been difficult. ....

I wouldn't have paid it before going before the judge on that one. So I'm glad he didn't give me a ticket. Had it gone to court, he would have looked like a fool.

Never happened to me, but glad it's all settled for you now. I'd like to see his face if he ever pulls you over again. The jerk!

They deny it but everyone knows it's true. And this being the end of the month, I was his next victim.

I am really sorry that happened to you, it has happened to my mom and grandma before to, hopefully he gets a warning himself for falsely accusing you of doing something wrong.

I think the officer was just telling you what his computer told him. He wasn't at fault, he just had faulty information. Someone at the DMV did not do their job in data entry. I would check back in 10 days or so to make sure the computer records are adjusted. I'm glad he gave you just a warning, most of them are nice that way.

The officer at DMV said it would take about two weeks for me to get my title. I just got the car on Friday. Still even with the valid information in the paperwork for the car, the officer should have known everything was legal.

Yes it was. You should have seen the look of disbelief on both my son's faces when I told them I was pulled over and the reason for it.

Never have been stopped in my life. Why did he run your plates in the first place?

My guess is, it's the end of the month and he had nothing better to do. I think he was really hoping it was a stolen vehicle as the plates went back to my old car. When that failed, I think he was hoping I wouldn't have my insurance card on me. He really couldn't get me for anything, so settled for an unwarranted warning ticket.

I can only hope that someone teaches him the real rules before he begins giving out unnecessary tickets!

You think that person that gave you the warning being a officer would know the law himself.

Wow! Well I'm happy that you were in the right and the officer wrote her name and badge number down. I got pulled over recently for brake light out - except it was the light inside the interior of the car. The one that faces outside through the rear window - not the 2 external ones on either side -- now I knew you can get pulled over for the external right or left hand ones, but I didn't think you could for the external one....
