What sells?

Sometimes I observe two salesmen with practically the same items for sale. The price is also more or less the same. One of them goes home with empty handed and the other sells everything and gets more orders. Does anyone have a clue what sells?

It depends on how they talk and are able to persuade customers. The higher your persuation skills the more likely you are to be successful

It is probably so. Persuasive and outgoing people attract the crowd.

I agree with @Nawsheen the ability to attract customers by words as well as by appearance are the important tricks for any sales jobs.

Make the customers hear what they want to hear regarding a product and all details should be explained accurately, professionally, detailed and courteously.

@Alternative4 provided that is what the buyer wants and or what they ask for and of course the provided information by the salesman should be true and accurate then he has a better chance winning the sale but of course there are other factors to take into consideration

I see... for example if two salesmen both sell same looking carrots, the one who says that his carrot was grown with/ or without certain additives wins?

I think it is how they approach the customer or potential buyer or how they connect with people that really matters.
