I have two parrot as a pet. It's been a year since they are living with me. In this very first year, they have become naughtiest pet ever. They live their life full with royality. It seems like I'm a pet to them. Beginning from the morning, they'll be awake at 4-5 o'clock in the morning and will start speaking like an alarm starting from low voice to high voice with all the names they have learnt till now. They'll keep shouting untill someone comes and cares them or love them by playing 10-15 minutes with them. After that they want something to eat and in that something they will only eat those foods which they like otherwise they will not eat or put the bowl upside down and waste their food. After eating, they'll be silent and will not react for an hour. Btw they are so foodie that whenever someone goes in the kitchen and they heard it or see it, they start shouting like they are hungry since ages. Whatever you are eating, it must be provided to them whether they like it or not which they tell us by eating or wasting. Since I sing also, therefore there are several times when I try to record my voice. While singing and recording, I don't know why but those naughty parrots will try to sing along with me in their languages. After that when I try to hear my recording, they also hear their voices with much enthusiasm. One of them is my friend while the other one is my enemy. So whenever I play with my friend, the other one gets jealous and bites my friend in order to make her away from me. Whenever they are alone, they will keep trying the new voices and sound or some singing or sometimes found to be kissing each other. Haha. These crazy pets. Of all the activities they do, I still love them.

Do you teach them to talk? Your post also reminds me of a show I saw on TV about pets. It was said that dogs have owners and cats have staff. Your parrots sound like cats whose owner is their staff. But they make you happy don't they...

Yes, I love them and love their bossy behaviour. They are actually smart, they can recognise my dad's vehicle way from my home , they can recognise the presence of a specific family person in the home or that room. We make them learn some words, like whenever they are hungry, they shout the food name, if somebody dresses well before going to party, they also respond by whistling, whenever they talk to a specific person they know their names and keep chanting their name and also sometimes they act like they are talking someone on the phone. They'll say hello, bhaiya (brother), kya kar rahe ho ? (What are you doing?), Things like these.

@_ge_ez_ wow, I like that. I used to have birds as pets... One morning when I went to check on them...they were all on the floor (of their cage)... I forgot to feed them so they die.

@atoz1to10 oh so sad. Yes you are right, having a pet is a responsibility. There is another problem also that our family as a whole cannot go anywhere out of station together as one had to stay back in hone to look after them.

My cousin had a parrot which unfortunately flew away. They kept calling him back but i guess he couldn't find the way home. My cousin climbed to the roof but to no avail.

Oh that really hurts because its all your hardwork to train them and to have memories with him. Similar to this happened with me too, last parrot was afraid of something bigger than his size so one day he was with my sister and unfortunately there was an object which fell down from 2feet above the ground. He got sacred and flew away and never came back. He had a habit of living in the home without the cage. He was the sweetest one.

They make us learn the language of their own. Living with them, we get to learn what they need and when they need. They never betray us because they always love their care takers.
