Daughter wants to wear shorts

Today while I was myLotting I received a call . My daughter phoned me asking whether she can wear shorts in U.S as most of the people do wear them. I said within acceptable length and fabric.
she is a sports lady and visited China also participating in Basketball/ Scorf ball matches. There she purchased hot pant and wore it. But, it such dress is not suitable in India as most of the people will look at her amazingly. So when she wanted to wear it I said 'no' bluntly. I have advised her to wear such dress where that is acceptable and does not have criticism. She said ok.and did not wear it.
She is now in U.S. She wants to wear various stylish dresses and want to enjoy her life as it is quite natural with youngsters.
Today when she accepted and she felt very happy and purchased one. She told me that she purchased one Denim short and another one in black cotton. She likes black very much.

Do as Romans do is a good saying. Your daughter will have no problems using shorts in the US, but I can understand that it is unacceptable in India. When I go for vacations at the Caribbean, I wear shorts and thin dresses over swimsuits. In my country I can only wear shorts in my garden (I´m 71 years old).

The age is not a criterion for anybody. It is all comfort. Even at the age of 70 wearing short is not prohibited. It will be comfortable and you use that. Even then we take note of the place. I wear shorts when staying in. While playing table tennis sometimes I wear short as it is comfortable and no one can find fault with it. But, in the case of Teenagers and unmarried people one should be careful in choosing them.

@shivamani10 In my country, woman of my age don´t wear shorts unless at the beach. I think we should mind the dressing code of each country. And the dressing code varies according to our age.

That is good you're daughter is enjoying her time in the US, is she going to schooling out here? i think shorts are nice to wear during summer time i am sure they are common where she is.
