One More Thing to Add to the List

I've been busting my back to get the house spotless for my sisters visit this weekend (since she's a germaphobe). Dusting, vacuuming, windexing, scrubing, mopping; etc.,....... It got a little chilly here last night so I went to close the windows and as I passed the back entry to go to my bedroom.....the back door was WIDE OPEN. Now mind you, it had done that before I had the house re-leveled when I had secured the door with a bungee cord hooked into the washer and attached to a zip tie wrapped around the handle of the back door. I closed the door and IMMEDIATELY did a cat head count. I have 4 that have the main run of the kitchen, living room and dining room. Well guess what?!!!! Only 3 are accounted for. And don't it figure, the one that is missing is the only female that I have not had spayed yet. Now mind you, this is at 9:55 pm; pitch dark outside. I called and called and even her brother Cry Baby stood on the back porch calling for her. Nothing, zip, nada. I went outside clear up til midnight and still no Blackie (she's a miniature Scar). So between no food and water, raccoon's, coyotes and god knows what else; I just don't know. She has never been outside in her life-span of 10 years, so I don't know if she'll even make it. I've been calling for her all morning so far and still nothing. I can just picture when my sister shows up with her TWO DOGS that that will be the time Blackie decides to show up and wants in the house. As soon as she sees them, she'd be right back out the door. Happy 66th birthday Nanette, your week has sucked and your life sucks. Let's celebrate with a bottle of pills and a bottle of Jack Daniels.

Well I hope she still shows up soon. Perhaps she is scared and is in hiding (we found my mother in law's cat in the next door backyard in a cluster of big cactus "bushes". Happy birthday to you though!

I have 15 acres of woods that surround me @much2say so she'd have a lot of hiding spots. Thank you on the BD thought and I hope she comes home soon too.

I am so sorry. You have been through so much with your kitties lately. I do hope that she makes it home safely wherever she is at.

Thank you @Happy2BeMe . I've already lost 4 within 1 year to serious diseases, so I sure don't need one more checking out.

@nanette64 i don't know that much about coyotes. Is it possible for her to come back if she gets carried away. I hope that she is not harmed

Let's just say, I'm pretty well wore out already and my sis won't get here til Saturday. I just hope I don't hear Blackie screaming as she's being carried off by coyotes @Nawsheen . I had that happen once and it was horrifying.

@Nawsheen If the coyotes get her, they will rip her apart and eat her.

The 'outside' world here is very dangerous because of all the wild animals @prashu228 . If the back door wouldn't have accidentally opened on its own, she wouldn't have gotten out.

@nanette64 Sometimes it's the best way, at least we see nothing and hear nothing.

Well happy birthday, I just wish there was a chance of that happening for you. I hope Blackie soon decides that the big outdoors is not for her and comes home.

@nanette64 Sorry your sister didn't come after all your preparation. Perhaps Blackie will realise it's not all that good outside.

Thank you @jaboUK . Because of the horrible weather, my sister didn't come. Blackie showed up briefly Friday night but when I tried to get her, she ran off again. Geez!
