My youngest child just harvested this very red large rose Apple fruit in our bonsai tree. We call it makopa . This is the very first fruit eipe in the bonsai rose apple tree. Three of my children eager to bite the fruit but just this moment that i give my permission to pick the fruit. As you can see there are other fruits hanging and within the days it will turn red also. So many flowers from this bonsai didnt make it. Only few grown to big. The tree is just 1 and a half feet in height. Its jst lovely to see it fruiting red bell fruits.

I was thinking what was a rose apple tree. And I just realize that I was looking at a Macopa fruit. We also have it. But its not the time of the year that it is bearing fruits here.. Our's is as tall as our house and fruit during past mid year. I can't help but notice that you have dragon fruit trees. I tried to grow some but the slugs keeps on eating them.

If its possible you have the long branch of dragon fruit, plant it as a whole and within one year it will have fruits. Don't water it too much. I recommend once a week watering.

@ilocosboy Thanks for the tip. Maybe I'l get another branch and plant it. Is it possible that I can plant it in a container? Like a drum.

It looks ripe, and ready for picking. It can bear more fruits if it grows naturally; not bonsai.

I've never seen a rose apple tree or the fruit. It's a lovely picture.
