I once followed other followers who wore white robes and carried bibles.

They were part of a cult or religious movement in the 1970s who said they followed a man named of all things, JESUS CHRIST LIGHTENING AMEN. I followed them all the way about a mile then I got tired and walked back home with my friend, who also got tired. But those people were the very first who were of some religious cult or group that I ever met for real. Outside some Harry Christnas who were at a foot ball game when I was in High School band. Have you ever been approached at your home by a follower of some unusual sounding religious group? I have.

Back in the 80s, my family & I were visiting Washington DC and we were going to see the Lincoln Memorial and just as we got there and started walking up the steps to see it, some guy, who looked like a Hare Krishna type, came up to us and wanted to give us some of his pamphlets etc. and talk, we said "no, not interested" and he walked off.

I'm sorry, but I got a tickle out of the way you spelled "Hare Krishnas" I admit that it IS difficult to spell.

Not really, although there was a large Hare Krishna group when I went to PSU. They used to make delicious vegetarian dinners for whomever wanted them. It was a great meal for free, but I am sure they used it as a recruitment tool too.

Yea, don't get caught up in the hoopla but enjoy your free meal in any case.

I ran into some Krishnas in the airport back in the 70s when I flew home on leave. While in college I had a couple of Mormons stop me and ask me if I knew about "their" heavenly father's plan. And I don't have a doorbell or I'd never get to sleep in on Saturday because of all the Jehovah's Witnesses in the neighborhood.....

In India, there are many. We can not name them. Recently many more are added to the list.
