There is more to a music festival than just the music

Recently we attended a four-day music festival at Fairbridge in Western Australia. We took our bus/motor-home, another couple had a caravan and a third couple had a small motor-home. A single friend stayed with us in the bus.
Through the day we put the awnings up which gave us a shaded area between the bus and the caravan which were parked next to each other. However in the evenings it was mostly windy and dusty and not very pleasant sitting outside. We managed to fit all seven of us comfortably in the bus.
We would come home from the evening concerts and spend an hour or two chatting and drinking wine or having coffee before retiring for the night. In the photo, the ladies are sitting on the single bed which is quite wide and long. The two men have the lounge chairs and Vince sat in one of the passenger seats.
For me, this part of the day was almost as enjoyable as attending the various concerts. We had many a laugh in the evenings sitting in the bus.
In the photo the third person from the left is our friend who walked the 1,000 kms Bibbulman Track. Perhaps you're read some of my posts about it.

Those are the best parts. When you go out with a group, you can be busy all day. Then at the end of the day you sit and relax with a drink and some good conversation.

Sorta of like a country music festival but with different music. Your hair is much longer now!

@AbbyGreenhill That's pretty cool. Are you able to listen to them often or at all?

The bed turned out a bit bigger than it needed to be but it was quite comfy for the four of us to sit on. Yes, Lynn is the one turning to face the camera. The one next to the window and the man closest the camera were another couple on our bus trip to see the wildflowers.

@JudyEv I really do love reading about all you do. I even found a page of events going on around our state, and so while I don't have people to attend events with (at the moment), I'm going to try to get to whatever I can. You've become a real inspiration to me!

Our public transport system is not good at all really. I think they might have run buses to and from the city but that might have been just for the artists.

I would love to do what you 2 do. Here things are different and you just cannot trust many people anymore.

It's a shame isn't it? I hope it will be ages before things reach that stage here.

Such a nice looking bunch of friends! I have tried explaining this concept many times to my dad -- there's more to music fests than just music. He remains oblivious tho. Some people don't get it.

I guess it's the staying over night that helps with the socialising and bonding. It would be a bit different if you just went home at night.
