Have a Meeting on Tuesday with my Supervisor

United States

Not sure what the meeting is about and it does make me a little nervous. She knows what is going on and I was sure that she understood that it meant I may need to miss more work than I usually do. My work record will show that I don't miss much work. Even when I am sick I most often go in. However, this past month has proven to be difficult with having to find daycare and also for appointments that we must keep that concern our granddaughter. Even my husband has had to miss work time because of these appointments. Just last week we had a staff meeting that addressed absenteeism. So, I may be getting called to the mat because of it. Sadly, I could be relieved of my duties because of having to take so much time off. Truthfully, I feel that it wouldn't be such a bad thing for this job to end. It has become so stressful having to deal with the needs of my clients. I told my husband that I wasn't sure I could continue to do this type of work. So, I'll just have to wait until Tuesday to see what is in store for me. Wish me luck.

Thanks Laurel. I am hoping it is just a routine meeting. A few months ago we were told we would have monthly face-to-face meetings and so far I have only had one.

@Happy2BeMe I've been an employee for 10 years, I could have left for other employment but didn't. New hires are not staying with them. So it would be their loss, not mine.

I always tend to over worry. I hope it is not something that I need to worry about. LOL.

@ElusiveButterfly Lol. Hopefully it isn't something you need to worry about. I tend to sometimes over worry about things too.

Having a young one is hard for parents who work. I hope it works out for the best (whatever the best may be).

I hope that I am reading more into it than there truly is. But, that is the way I roll.

I'd be nervous, too. I hope the meeting goes well for you and that they understand your circumstances. Good luck!

I do hope that they go easy on me. If they don't, it will be their loss. My concern would be for the clients that I have bonded with.

Oh dear, well, if it happens it does Elusive, and who knows, maybe something better in store. Yes I know how that goes, they say it is okay or rather make you feel like they understand, but when it boils down to it nope. Wish you blessings with this now.

Oh, I'm sorry if you are about to lose your job even if you sort of think it is okay. I hope you are able to find something else if this happens. But hopefully it might be about something else altogether. And wishing you heaps of good luck.

I do hope it's just a warning that they have to give under similar circumstances. If your work ethic has been really good thus far, I doubt they would just fire you without a warning.

I hope everything goes well. But yes your granddaughter has to come first.
