The Husbands Plan.

A little back story here first. My husband and I have been together for 7 years now. As you can imagine our relationship has reached that point where we kind of just exist in each others lives. Don't get me wrong we still enjoy on another's company and conversation, however the relationship has lost a lot of its original glamor. Now the same with any other couple we have our own go to hobbies we enjoy. Me I enjoy writing, reading, and anything art. He enjoys everything cars. He rebuilds his own or works on our vehicles. or when the weather Is crappy like it has been he will build his own model cars. I love it when he builds a model because they look so good. When he finishes one I make it a point to clear a spot on the shelf above my desk for his new addition. Now as I mentioned before we haven't spent a lot of time together recently and I think he is tired of that. Last night he brought home a gigantic bag of supplies for a model car build only this time he had supplies for two cars. I thought to myself oh he is ready for a long week in. Nope I was wrong because this man came over to my desk, took my mouse from me, saved my work and shut my computer off. He then took my notebooks away from me and said will you join me on the couch. He brought supplies home for me this time. He had a plan that I was going to sit on the couch with him and build my own model car with him. So now here I am a person who knows absolutely nothing about this hobby trying to understand what a man who is an expert at this explain to me what I need to do. I am lost. Then he realized his mistake. He tells me to just start painting. Painting this plastic contraption is completely different than a canvas but I'm going to try because this is something he wants me to do. He has invited me into his world and wants me to participate in an activity with him and I have now set my mind to doing such. My car is now this purple glob that is sitting on wheels. In three hours my husband managed to make us get closer to each other than we have been in months. I applaud him for this and he made me smile. To me this was better than a date night out somewhere. I think I might make him paint a canvas next time.

That's really sweet, you know husbands are a little different they always need their wives close to them even if they have nothing to do with what they are doing. Just like I do I need her close to me no matter she understands what I am doing. Her presence is like being close to success and that's what I achieve everytime she is close. God bless you both with more love and comfort .

I have to give him credit. I can sit next to him doing my own thing as he does his own but we rant actually doing anything together. I would have never thought to build a car with him. Although I do watch him still not the same.

That's so sweet! I'm glad your husband decided to do something instead of you both drifting in opposite directions. We're been married 51 years and it takes effort, but it's well worth it. We had lots of painful years, but we're closer now than we've ever been.

You picked the right man, my dear! When many other men would have let their life go on, day after day, with no changes at all, your man decided that his marriage comes first. And it had to make his heart sing to know that you were willing to go along with him to spend that time with him instead of by yourself. I predict a long and happy marriage here. I'm so very happy for both of you!

Awww that is so sweet. What a wonderful thing to do. He sounds like a very thoughtful man and good for you for giving it your all even though you had no idea what you were doing.

This car is so bad looking. He may never let me build another one lol. But the time we are spending together while building the cars is priceless.
