Call me or not?

Ever notice that if that if you want to talk or even feel like it would be a good time to get a call, no one calls? Then as soon as you are on the phone with someone either someone else calls , or drops by or something else goes on? Where are all those people I would like to know, that say call me any time you need to talk.? Then when you do, they are totally bored and won't say much like they are preoccupied and can't wait to get off or they are doing and talking with a bunch of other people, etc. Yesterday I was here trying to get through my notifications and reading some mighty good posts when, my friend that has not had time to call me from AZ for 3 weeks now or can't talk when I call, called me. I really felt like brushing her off also, but did not do that after all. I realize things happen but call back later to apologize at least. you know? One day last week, I called my other friend in AZ, 2 minutes into the call, my daughter comes home and has important things to ask me so I said to friend on the phone hold on a minute, then the door bell rang with a guy with a package for me and the 2 yrs old ran in my room for her mom came and got her and someone else tried to ring in on my call! This after a long day of nothing happening. Its like when I used to wait on buses in the snow in Ohio many years ago, I would light a cigarette just so the bus would get there cause you couldn't smoke on them. lol. and sure enough it would come. too bad I didn't stop then. uuugghh! I was sitting here a few minutes ago pondering on the quiet thinking this would be a good time to call someone or do a post. Sure enough, grandson and them showed up to get some things from their room and left back out and then daughter came out of her room wondering where everyone is ? lol. Which I don't know. I better finish this before someone calls. ha! ha!

I often get the long involved phone call that comes in right as I'm about to do something or leave the house. I love it when I tell a caller I'm too busy to talk and they just carry on talking anyway. Doh!

Those things happen they really do. My eldest called today from Liverpool and was not in a very good mood really and was trying to rush through everything he was saying.

@bunnybon7 Sometimes I wish they would call when they are in a better mood as they are much sweeter then. You cannot say a word out of place otherwise.

It's all about timing . . . it works when you don't want it to . . . and it doesn't work when you want it to . As far as calls go, I cannot even bother calling certain friends anymore. They call me when they have something to tell me - it's not about "how have you been" . . . and if I call the conversation gets turned over to them again.

yes i feel like if nothing else true friends call now and then just to say are you okay? but if they go a long long time then call to talk for hours it kind of ticks me off. that means they only call concerning themselves cause no one else is talking with them

@bunnybon7 Yep, we are the listeners - they know it - and they will take advantage of it. I don't even have to ask certain friends how they are doing because that is what they automatically jump into . . . and I get sad if they don't turn the tables and ask how I am doing.

I remember back when we would call someone and actually get a busy signal and we would have to keep calling back until they were off the phone! Today we can text most people to get their attention. But I do agree that wanting a phone call and not getting one is no fun at all!

makes you feel the world has forgotten you and passing you by. lol btw, i remember those busy signals also and even as a child we had "party lines" where you had to wait till someone else got off the phone to call anyone

@bunnybon7 yes I remember party lines! As a child, I would listen in on other people but they always knew and they would yell at me!

@CRK109 think we all did that were kids back then. they would today most likely . trouble is they wouldn't get scared and hang up like we did. these kids today would probably yell back and cuss so its a good thing its no longer here

Agreed it's like when you really want to talk to someone they don't call but when you are super busy or not talkative then they call, my cousin in texas called whom we have been looking forward to talking to, but she called right before we were going in to see a play lol BAD TIMING....

yes sometimes its like they call because they know. but then, i try and text first and ask can i call. that way they have the option of saying quickly they are very busy with something or they are free to talk.

It happens with me too. When you are free and feel like you want to talk to somebody then either they are not free at that time or do not respond to the call. And when you are super busy here you are receving lots of calls

@bunnybon7 So do I. I had a call tonight while I was making supper and had it finished and on the table before the conversation was finished.

I'm surprised people even call anymore. Now everyone just texts. I always want to call my parents though but others I just text.

its nicer to get a call. i always find texts mess up what you are trying to say and people get the wrong idea if they don't hear your voice sometimes
