My musical journey - Part 3

My musical journey in it's third chapter started when I decided to become a bass player.  So I got a bass as a gift (thank you mom and dad) and simply switched from 6 string lessons to bass lessons with the same instructor.  While he proclaimed that he "wasn't a bassist" - he gave me a good head start and foundation.  With bass I felt an instant connection.  I understood what to do like I never had with guitar.  I could feel it.  So I came to the realization that I'm more of a bass player than a guitar player. At tis point in time I was (and still am) a huge Led Zeppelin fan. The fourth part of my journey would come when I joined a band for the first time. (Series recommended by @JamesHxstatic ) If you'd like to read the other parts - please click the green "musical journey" tag Interview with John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin's bassist):

The tough part is getting through the boring parts, which are early on when you learn .. :-)

@FayeHazel My brother picked up a guitar at age 9, and he was hooked. He and his wife, and their band members, performed all over the USA for many years. He still has a studio in his home and I am glad he still plays and his wife still sings. They are both in their 60s, but still sound great.

Very interesting Journey there. I have never really played, other than just experimenting a little bit.

Our son started bass lessons with a guitarist too and has gone on to be a bass guitarist playing jazz.
