Starting a YouTube Channel

Hi everyone! Back again, as I always am eventually. I've got an idea! I want to start a YouTube channel where I host a pre-school storytime. It would be called "Storytime with Miss Nikki". I started thinking about this after I did storytime with the kids at work for March break, and I also miss teaching pre-school as you all know from previous posts. If the YouTube channel gets popular, I could make money from ad revenue. What do you think of the idea? Do you have any tips for running a successful YouTube channel? Take care! First thing would be to own the content you use: written, verbal etc... If you have any knowledge of graphic designing then you can make cartoonish graphic play to go along with story telling.Kids like pictures especially if the characters are moving, talking and acting. You can only monetize a video after it has minimum 10,000 views Like this:

@MissNikki Maybe if you are not earning money or getting a ton of attention but it still is a copyright violation. You may have to purchase the rights to do so. For detailed explanation, go through this link:

So are you saying I cannot read a book written by someone else even if I give credit to the creators?

Since you are targeting children. Try to have this friendly soft voice. It seemed to appeal to children a lot. The most successful children's channel on Youtube is Fun toy's collector. This may sound weird but she was a former pornstar who decided to change her life and quit her career and be a toy reviewer. She makes 5 million a month and many scientist thinks it is her voice that attracts children. She review toys and children loves her channel. if you will notice she talks in this friendly sweet way and that attracts toddlers to stick with her channel. Also use pastel colors. children loves pastel colors.

@MissNikki For sure your channel will be more original, but at least you may know what kind of voice kids like.

I don't have a fancy camera but I do have a pretty good digital camera which I will most likely use to make the videos once I get started. I think webcam or cellphone quality would not be good enough ... unless I had a newer phone, maybe. LoL

@MissNikki I think that's wise, using your digital camera. I know I made a few youtube videos using my webcam and you're right... wasn't too good of quality.
