It seems like a lot of negativity recently here at myLot

I hate to say it but all this negativity is a turn off. I, like many of you, are here to have fun, chat with people via discussions and even learn new things. Yes, I know, I can skip the negative stuff and believe me I do. I am just expressing an opinion. Let's have some happy discussions.... it's beautiful weather, the birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, the sun is shining and I'm in a good mood and want to stay that way! What about you - are you in a good mood today? Photo is mine from a few years ago. I just planted sunflower seeds so it will be a while before I can take photos of them!

I fully agree, a smile brings another smile. I am in a pretty good mood today. My sweet breads with cinnamon and raisins are right how of the oven and the kitchen smells so good. I am hungry.

@AbbyGreenhill I am always in a good mood, at most I have an angry moment when I read some stupid things, but it never lasts a lot.

Well, you have given my day a BIG positive charge with that photo!! That looks like a scene from around where I used to live in Ohio, all the green and trees, the gently rolling hills and rich farmland. Oh, it makes me SO homesick but it's so good to see it! Thanks for brightening my day!!

@AbbyGreenhill Tennessee is another state that I absolutely love. The people, the scenery, the gorgeous Smoky Mountains...I'll never forget driving through as a child and looking down into a fog-filled valley surrounded by trees afire with the colors of Autumn. I rarely see anything as beautiful as that memory.

@dragon54u The problem with the Smoky Mountains is some days that fog doesn't lift LOL! When we were vacationing here many years ago we left the Smokys in fog and drove for an hour in it - not fun. But the beauty is something else.

I think some people vent their frustrations here because they have no one else to express themselves to at the moment and they need the advice and ear of us here.

@AbbyGreenhill See and I normally always get mine on the 1st. The 2nd at the latest. Even though the banks were closed yesterday for Labor Day, it should have still come through after midnight.

@AbbyGreenhill No it is a tire warehouse, 2 million square foot and we are waiting to hear. I would love him to get hired on at Amazon but that one is about 60 miles away and the one he is waiting to hear from is about 35 miles away. Good pay and benefits, much easier to get to when it's snowing out.

I try not to be negative when I am in here, as life is to short to be negative, It takes less muscles to smile than it does to frown. Even if I am upset about somethingg, I try to put on a brave face and make the most of it. Life is what we make it for sure.

@AbbyGreenhill That is a shame too, as I find no problem wiyh either one, but yu wilkl always find people that aren't happy about anything, so they will complain about things that they have no business complaining about. I find this site great, and the members are great too. I hae not one thing bad to say about mylot. I am glad that I could come back after a long break.I am enjoying myself again and having fun.

Just a question on the side, when do you plant your Sunflowers is it this Month? As I plan to plant a few in the Garden if I can. Those are lovely up in the photo. Time for sunshine and blues skies and great fluid communication between all (I hope).

@AbbyGreenhill Okay thank you very much as they are my very favourite flowers and they are no longer in the Fields around here and they were so beautiful to look at. Thanks for the tips will do all that.

3 May 17
We can plant them starting last month. Not sure what your weather is like there...as long as no more frost you are fine to plant seeds...make sure to keep them well watered.

Negativity only extends to how far people would allow them to stay negative., there is always a chance for something negatve to turn positive and vice versa but of course it's only my personal view., yes hope we all have a good day.

You could be correct, but I very seldom seem negatives turn positives unless there is a lot of work put into it.

Life is often what you make of it. I hear people grumbling and complaining about their relationships....hmmm...I can't fix it...I don't have enough information to advise. I try to be upbeat. I know we can all have down days. Life isn't always sunshine and roses.....but even the gray east days often have their bright moments.

@AbbyGreenhill I know that feeling. I have some relatives that drive me nuts....but complaining about it here on Mylot doesn't do anything to fix it. I've learned to put it on the shelf and ignore it. I can't change them, but I can change how I react to their insanity.

I'm a bit sad and a little anxious. My 94-year-old mother-in-law fell yesterday and broke her pelvis. We're relieved it doesn't require surgery. If it had been a hip, it would have required surgery and she might not have survived that. So this is not as bad as it could have been. But she's in a lot of pain and it's hard to watch her suffer. We hope, with rest and therapy, she'll get on her feet again, but it will be months. So I'm sad.

Yes, I'm in a good mood today. Spring usually does that to me. I was coming out of the local supermarket and noticed that the horse chestnuts were already in flower and that the hedges are greening up. Spring is truly here (about 10 days early, I should say). I tend to find that, when I'm in a good mood, I'm buoyant and can allow that others might not be in such a good mood. That's their lookout, I guess, and I have enough positivity to feel sorry for them. It's usually only when I'm feeling down myself that other people's gripes and whinges drag me further down.

I think others gripes get to me if I think they are uncalled for....I can understand griping about serious matters, but some thing are just part of life and nothing to write about LOL
