What Do Your Kids Call You

I called my youngest son yesterday to find out how his job hunting is coming along, and to tell him about his brother's job interview. He didn't know his brother was looking for another job and we like to keep him in the loop even though he doesn't live here. He is still a member of this family. Mostly my sons call me mom. And I couldn't be more happy and proud to be their mom. My youngest tells me I will forever be his first girl However when I call my son he always says the same thing. Hello Mother. Yup I'm his mother, but I love when he says Hello Mother. I can't explain why I love that but I do. My older boy, when he wants something from me will call me momma, lol. When he says that I always laugh because I know he is going to ask for something When my oldest Sam was a little one I use to call him BooBoo. and I have thought about this over the years and have no idea why I called him that. My younger boy Danny was a monster when he was young and I used to call him Brat Baby but in a loving way. My two sons mean everything to me and they know it. What do your kids call you? Do you have special names for your kids? Many of you have asked for a pic of me, so this one was taken in 2010 the day my youngest Danny graduated from high school. Sam my oldest is the one with the beard. But you probably figured that out.

Very nice photo. I have no children, I always called my Mom "Mamma" (I suppose the Italian for Momma), mother is too formal.

@fishtiger58 I forgot to add that my nickname for my son has always been Doodlebug and I call him that even as an adult just to get a laugh. My grandchildren now call him Uncle Doodlebug so it's stuck

They all tower over you. I don't have any special names for my kids. The closest would be my youngest as he is a Third, but being his name was also the same as his father's, he goes by his middle name. He's HEH III. He goes by Edgar.

My daughter is excelling at spanish class, so likes to call me Madre. There are worse things to be called. Sometimes I refer to her as "female child" as she's my only girl. My boys are Peanut, Monster, and Pancake.

@fishtiger58 and they all have good stories behind them.. except female child. No idea why I started that one. Tyler we started calling him Pancake one night when we made a pancake in the shape of a T. So when we went to Hershey last year he became Chocolate T pancake. Then we went to renessiance festival and he became Lord Chocolate pancake of T

Yay! I finally know what you look like! My two kids just call me dad. When my daughter was little, she used to call me D-Da, but now it's just plain old dad. Every now and then, my son will jokingly call me Jeff instead of dad, but I remind him he's not old enough to call me that just quite yet (he's 14). I call my son Rye Rye (his name is Ryan), or just refer to him as my little buddy. It's funny, he tells me that everyone calls him Jeff Junior, even though he doesn't share the name Jeff with me. My daughter I call my little pumpkin, because her birthday is right near Halloween.

@fishtiger58 As of right now, I don't think my son looks very much like me at all. He got more of his mother's features. He has the most curly hair I've ever seen, which is nothing at all like my hair. But he has the exact same mannerisms as me, so in that respect we are a lot alike!

What a smart and proud looking family you have. My children call me Mum or Mother. When they call me Mother, it's usually in a condescending tone. Like, when I ask them if they've done something they always do and they say 'yes, Mother' or when I'm making 'dad' jokes or singing, they just look at me with rolling eyes and simply say 'Mother'! They have both also been known to call my Mummy. The youngest when he is about to ask for extra computer time, and the eldest when he's being soppy! I call my mum Mother. I call my dad Daddy. Not always, though. If my Dad is misbehaving, I'll call him Dad (or call him by his first name/full name if he's in really big trouble!)

@fishtiger58 Yep! Oh, and special nicknames for my kids. Well, I come up with various random names for them. On here I call them Midi and Mini, but I don't do that in real life. Sometimes, I call Mini 'Nugget' (because that's his favourite food) or Monkey. I don't really have a nickname for Midi but I used to call him Pumpkin or Podger.
