We cleaned an apartment

My brother rents his apartment in the city where he works. He does not know about housekeeping. Mother and I would need to be there at least every 6 months to clean up his house. We went there last Wednesday and the house is really horrible. The bathroom and sink is so yucky. Lots of dust and cobwebs and very disorganized. We spend 1 and a half day there to finish the cleaning. Are you good in housekeeping or you depend on others to do it for you?

He really should learn. I am surprised he could live in that condition.

I don't know why he doesn't like doing house work. He would choose to live in that pitiful condition than try to clean the house every now and then

@averygirl72 he could hire someone but waiting for a clean in 6 months is an awfully long time

Why does your mom do that instead of teaching him to take care of himself? what will happen to him if you guys are not around to do it for him? would that be fair if he were to become married? oh I clean my own home and any man that shares it with me will clean after himself. I don't allow slobs to share my space with me. my daughter is the one exception.

Yeah I think he had a wrong training. He didn't trained himself to help in housekeeping when he was young. He think others should do that for him that's why his house is worse. If he get married he will do the same. He will not help in housekeeping because it does not interest him or don't like doing it by himself

I work in a kitchen and have to clean the whole place so I'm pretty good at cleaning. You are just enabling your brother in his bad habits Teach him how to clean up then refuse to do it for him again. Then he will have to do it himself, hire a cleaner or live in a dirty place. If I was you I certainly wouldn't be cleaning up after him

You work in the kitchen, is that your job? It's actually okay on our part for us to help him but he should just exert some effort so it won't be so gross

Your brother will never learn to be more organised and cleaner if you do it for him. But I'm sure I'd be doing the same.

Uhm I think I can handle the cleaning of my own apartment. I did this when I was working in Manila. It is the best thing to being independent and responsible without the assistance of my family members. I think he needs to do the same thing.

My husband helps house cleaning and that is the only works he knows to do at home. He is well organized and always need things clean and tidy. But I am bit disorganized when in hurry.
