So Everyone has been sharing alot of there favorite songs, and favorite musicians it's always nice to see fellow fans of popular bands and singers, but i often find myself liking some songs that no one i talk to has ever heard of. Top Ten Favorite Songs - You Probably Have Never Heard Before Something In The Air by Thunderclap Newman I first heard this song on the movie Almost Famous and there was just something about it that i fell in love with, i have probably listened to it 100's of time. Doing a bit of research i found out Pete Townsend from The Who was in the band which i did not know, and apparently it was a Number One Hit in the UK. Have you heard this song before? what do you think of it?

Can honestly say I haven't, I have several bands and songs I love that most people haven't heard, and some maybe people in Canada or the UK have but not many in the US. I love the music Grey's Anatomy plays and I've found more songs by those musicians that I love.

@chrissbergstrom I do that too sometimes. Ever hear Grace don't wait by the Coronas? I love that song. I also love Henrietta by the Fratellis I'm not entirely sure how well known that song is but I was obsessed with it for awhile. I also like some stuff by Classified and David Myles.

Oldie but a goodie. Trivia: Jimmy McCullough was also in Thunderclap Newman. He was later the lead guitarist for Wings on the "Wings Over America" tour (and on Venus & Mars and Wings At the Speed of Sound).

They sing it accoustic in the movie, but the actual soundtrack of the CD has the original Thunderclap Newman song included.
Thunderclap Newman's Something In The Air being performed acoustically in Almost Famous.

I've heard of them, and I have heard the song, but I had never heard them do the song. I have the version Tom Petty recorded and I knew it was a cover. Didn't realize Townsend was in the band.

Yes i have the Tom Petty version to which is probably more popular, pretty sure it's on one of his Hits compliations...... but the version i liked was Thunderclap Newman's from the Almost Famous soundtrack was where i heard it first.
