Bank Charges!

Last day I received a message in my phone, that was too an automated message from the Bank. And it was about the fee that we have to pay if we don't maintain an account balance of rupees 2000, it would be nearly 32 US dollars. I believe its not an easy thing for an unemployed person like me to have such amount of balance in the bank. I currently doesn't have that much in the bank and I will be charged a fee this time. I wish I had a basic savings account (Zero balance account) since we don't want to maintain a balance there. Unfortunately I have a savings account so I have to pay the fee. Banks in India is changing its rules and regulations including the minimum balance. I think it is difficult for keeping the high amount as minimum balance even if you works.

I would never sign up for an account where you have to have a minimum balance or get charged because I never have much in my account.

Bank charges are really very high. Sometimes when you pay your credit cards bill late you will find late charges and finance charges billed. Banks make a lot of money from that

In most countries banks now debit charges to keep an account, which is not fair in my opinion.

There are banks that allow zero balance without charging. You can surf and find out which banks these are.

This is why we have online websites for us to earn. With out the internet it's just so hard to earn something. So far I'm holding on to the bank since 2008.

Oh no! I am sorry for that. Would you be able to write a review to your banks? Sounds like you are being reaped off.

Yes, they should start zero balance accounts. But I think as a student there are some facilities and even your salary account can be zero balance in some banks.
