Tree nuts have fiber, magnesium and antioxidants which helps to reduce inflammation. Inflammation may lead to a heart attack. You should also should eat a diet low in processed meat, red meat and refined grains. Get at least 150 minutes of exercise each week. Fish and chicken are good for you to eat and any seafood.

I love any kinds of trail mix does that count? Usually it has nuts in it. I do not eat a large amount of meat at all. Usually more eggs and cheese.

All nuts are off my diet because of the fiber. I need a low fiber diet for the ulcerative colitis.

We eat a lot of both fish and chicken, at least once a week with fish and usually 2-3 nights a week with chicken.

We enjoy having nuts as part of our regular menu. As we choose to avoid animal products (and have for many years) we have personally experienced the benefits of avoiding foods that can contribute to inflammation.

I am switching to a breakfast of dried fruits and nuts instead of bread. I think my past diet of bread is not good, since it is pure carbohydrates, and when I use peanut butter or other bread spread, it introduced added sugar. In term of cost, dried fruits and nuts are more expensive.

All good advice. I actually do most of it just because it is what we like.
